Democrats: McCain Owns Too Many Homes

I think there’s a basic political divide in America between people who look at a rich person and are happy to live in a country where so much success is possible and people who look at a rich person and think: Who does he think he is?

With their latest attack ad on John McCain the Democrats are making it clear which side of that divide their party is on.

The funny thing here is that we’re all supposed to be upset about John McCain’s multiple homes and forget, apparently, that Democrats are pretty rich too.  I mean, the Democrats’ last presidential nominee owned no fewer than four homes worth a grand total of $29 million.  Which is more than twice the value of McCain’s homes.

So what’s the point here?  That McCain is rich?  Well, we already knew that.  Big deal.  So are Democrats.  If we’re supposed to hate people for having too much money (which is what Democrat class warfare tactics are all about) why wouldn’t we hate Democrats like mansion-owners John Edwards and Al Gore just as much as Republicans?

Class warfare is an ugly thing.  It’s the tactic of socialists who want to use envy and jealousy as leverage to boost themselves into power.  The big lie, though, is that the socialists just want what the rich have except they don’t want to earn it for themselves.

Dishonest Rob either pretends the point is something it is not, or he is too stupid to know what the point is.  My money is SQUARELY on dishonesty.

What every intelligent person knows, is that McCain doesn’t know how many houses he has and of course only an out of touch wealthy person could forget.  And if he can forget that, how can he understand 90% of the American populations troubles?

Democrats are rich, but how many of them don’t know how many houses they have.  That is the question.

This is going to bear a great deal of embarrassment for McCain.  Those who are on the fence aren’t going to be able to identify with someone who could forget something so basic.

We’re really supposed to believe that McCain doesn’t know how many houses he has?  And that the “quote” from the Democrat ad wasn’t some cherry-picked off hand comment that doesn’t mean what they want us to think it means?

Hannitized, how does it feel to be this dumb?

Rob, can we try a little test?  Can you tell me what all of the questions were that were asked by the interviewer?

Then, when you get your answer ask yourself if you think you are intelligent.

Oh, isn’t that cute?  I’m not one to pick on the “special” kid, so I’m going to assume that you’re simply lying again.

People aren’t supposed to question him because he’s rich.  People should, however, wonder how he plans on pulling off the “Obama is an out-of-touch, arugla-loving elitist” tact that you Conservatives have been eating up.

I don’t know how the left side of the party can even speak about this without offending the Hollywood elite that support them.  Oprah, Barbra Striesand, George Clooney… and many, many more have multiple homes and I’m sure if asked they would not be able (or willing) to give up the specifics.  smile

It’s been a life of hard knocks for those McCain boys…
Especially for little Johnny just never lived up to the family’s expectations.
It did get a little better for Johnny after he dumped the first wife and hooked up with the richest gal in the valley.

Make ya wonder about his admitted long time ambition to be president.

Kinda like the guy we got now. Never really caught Daddy’s eye.

Arriving after living four years in Indonesia, Obama felt like a misfit in his Indonesian sandals and old-fashioned clothes, the Democratic presidential contender recalled in his 1995 memoir, “Dreams From My Father.”

Most of his classmates lived in “split-level homes with swimming pools,” he wrote. Obama lived in an apartment near school and worked at a burger chain and Baskin-Robbins before graduating.

“Rarely did I meet kids whose families had less than mine and might remind me of good fortune,” he wrote.

But former classmates and teachers say Barack Obama—known then as Barry—never revealed such feelings. They describe him as upbeat and friendly, able to move between traditional high school cliques.

“He seemed to negotiate through school very well,” said Eric Kusunoki, Obama’s homeroom teacher for four years.

Obama also has spoken fondly of the school. He has said Punahou’s emphasis on instilling values taught him to create a foundation for his life. And he has called for every child in the nation to have the type of education he enjoyed there.

”...Dan Hale, the 6-foot-7-inch star center of the 1979 Punahou basketball team, said Obama’s depiction of Hawaii as a place where race really mattered hardly resonates with him.
“I was certainly oblivious to a lot of what he references,” Hale said in an interview. “If you look at our teams, that year I was the only white guy on the starting five. You had three part-Hawaiians, one Filipino and me...”
.
“...Others are more skeptical that the boy known as Barry felt the angst described by Barack. Furushima said that many of her classmates have expressed dismay at Obama’s rendering of the past.

“We are just such a mixed-up bag of races. It was hard to imagine that he felt that way, because he just seemed happy all the time, smiling all the time,” she said. “We have so many tones of brown here. If someone is brown, they can be Samoan or Fijian or Tongan. I can’t tell if someone is Fijian or black.”

Of course the Leftist John-has-too-many-houses meme strikes Americans as, well, unAmerican.

Americans generally think, if ya dun well, then good on ya.

But this propaganda is not directed to Americans.  It is directed to the generations of the domestic proletariat who have never been weaned off the governmental transfer payments teat.

Dems buy the votes of the takers with the taxpayers dollars.

And you wonder why the Founders considered and rejected democracy as a system and opted for a Republic instead.

My point was and is that Senator Obama’s life is hardly the stuff of ‘rags-to-riches’ legends. He wanted for nothing in his growing up, and his entire education has been at one prestigious school after another.

Still, he is right, when he says his life story could not have happened in any other country but ours.

I appreciate the candor expressed in your last post.

John McCain’s family owns at least eight properties — not the seven Democrats are alleging or the four McCain’s staff identified — according to a Politico analysis of property and tax records, as well as interviews.

The presumptive Republican nominee, though, may have some wiggle room in explaining why he couldn’t immediately provide an answer when asked by Politico how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own. Sen. McCain himself does not own any of the properties. They’re all owned by Cindy McCain, her dependent children and the trusts and companies they control.

Taken from Politico. Investment properties, properties for family members, etc., you can be pissed if you want. Maybe you can refresh our memories on Uhbama’s long-lost brother’s living conditions and why Barry isn’t “helping a brotha out.”. Wonder if Cindy bought any of her properties from Rezko (or from Harry Reids outfit)...now there’s some dirt to dig up.

McCain’s chick handles the finances:
“...The stuff that came later includes eight properties, all owned by Cindy McCain, heiress to an estimated $100 million beer-distribution fortune, her dependent children and the trusts and companies they control.

But Joe McCain said, “it’s important to know that, from the time we could talk until the time he’s at the Naval Academy, we were on allowances like everybody else. We lived in rental housing. We never owned a home. We were taking school busses. We were taking the old streetcars (with) tokens. So that’s the life that we grew up in.”

John McCain was unable to answer a question from Politico about how many homes he and Cindy McCain own because they have an arrangement similar to the one the McCain brothers’ parents had, Joe McCain suggested.

“The person who took care of all the business was my mother,” he said. “My father had no idea about the family business, what oil leases he owned in Oklahoma.”

Joe McCain, who makes his home in Washington’s Northern Virginia suburbs, chuckled when recalling that “one time, she bought a house to remodel” in Southeast Washington while “he was at sea.”

As for John McCain’s inability to quickly say how many houses his family owned – a gaffe Democrats have used to portray McCain as out of touch – Joe McCain said he could tell the question made his big brother “a little bit uncomfortable.”

“Frankly, I think one of the reasons John was embarrassed was mainly because he didn’t really know,” Joe McCain said...”

It seems to me McCain comes from a type of family values where the man works and the woman takes care of the home finances.

I can fully understand this.

I work, my wife stays home to take care of the children and she takes care of the bills and finances.

Do I know how much is in my account, not really. I trust her to take care the finances, andm akes surethere is enough left over to buy food and things we need.

It doesn’t bother me that Barbara Streisand has half a dozen luxury homes. It doesn’t bother me that Madona owns a penthouse in New York, a Castle in England, and a mansion in Beverly Hills.

People who work hard and are successful should be able to keep most (at least 3/4) of what they earn and enjoy it as they see fit. If that means buying homes or cars or boats, good for them.

What I am upset about is the fact that a smaller and smaller portion of the American population is responsible for “contributing” to the government, and a larger and larger portions wants to grab for more public sector goodies while the “rich” pay.

P.S. I’m a science teacher, so obviously I’m not part of the population that has a yacht and a ski chalet.
