Democrat: We’re Being Forced To Refer To The New Stimulus Bill As A Jobs Bill

Which is a point I made a while ago. Despite our deficit and debt problems, Democrats are hot and bothered to do more deficit spending in the name of economic rescue. Only, because their previous economic rescue spending which they dubbed “the stimulus” has turned out to be such a failure, they want to call these new appropriations a “jobs bill.”
And Democrat leadership is forcing their rank-and-file colleagues to use that term.

A piece of crap, called by any other name, is still a piece of crap.

What language is put in a jobs bill? Do you make it the law for companies to hire a certain number of new employees? Does it specify the benefits to be bestowed upon these new hires? A base salary? Will it also force employers to provide an annual COLA?

You can’t make it a law to force companies to hire people (can you?). So yes, it is just another irresponsible “stimulus” bill given a new name in hopes of fooling the public. The net effect will be no new jobs and a pile of new debt. Unbelievable.

Congressman Sherman’s remarks are a stark testimony to the fundamental dishonesty of progressive Democrats. Integrity simply isn’t a concept that progressives comprehend.

This is the bailout we all knew was coming for cities and states run into the ground by Democrats.

Sorry to be the turd in the punchbowl here, but apparently Congressman Sherman believes new money should go to AFSCME, SEIU, and the other unions representing state and municipal governments – where does he think a huge chunk of the first stimulus went? It went to state and local governments, which continue to do spend as though they have an unending supply of money without making the hard choices to cut spending and, yes, cut the number of public employees. The problem is not what they call it – the Congressman is arguing for a continuation of earmarks for already highly paid unionized public employees, whose numbers grew after the last stimulus in relation to private sector jobs, instead of employing it to help the private sector that actually produces goods and services and creates jobs.

A pig, by any other name, would smell as rank.

This is just another in a long line of Democrat word games and obfuscation. To them the only reason the stimulus didn’t work is because they didn’t get to do enough of it. So obviously they must double down on their failure in order to turn it into a success. The same logic as they use to justify borrowing and insanely spending to get out of debt. Good grief, as brain dead as these people are, how do they manage to even dress themselves in the morning?
