Democrat: McCain/Palin Ticket Doesn’t Support Equal Pay, Wants To Put Raped Women In Jail

The Democrats are sounding more and more shrill these days, which just goes to show how badly the McCain/Palin ticket is scaring them.  Here’s Governor Claire McCaskill suggesting on ABC’s This Week that McCain/Palin don’t support equal pay for women.  And that they want to put raped women who have an abortion in jail.

STEPHANOPOULOS: It is true that this week, we saw a 20-point swing among white women in our ABC News poll.

MCCASKILL: Let me say, I think Sarah Palin has an incredibly winning personality. She’s a very skilled politician. And I understand a post-convention bump. And she’s a great role model for working women. I mean, I’m talking as a woman who took my breast pump to work for all three of my children. So that’s terrific.

MCCASKILL: But women of America are going to kick the tires the next 55 days, George, and they’re going to going to find out that this is a ticket that wants to put women in prison for having an abortion after they have been raped.

This is a ticket that has—is opposed to equal pay for equal work. This is a ticket that does not embrace early childhood education. This is a ticket…

It’s almost grotesque to see how McCaskill goes into full-on scare monger mode when confronted with the idea that American women might be favoring Sarah Palin with their support.  I wonder what support McCaskill has for her claims?

As far as equal pay for women, is McCaskill really suggesting that Palin doesn’t think she should be paid as much as men?  That her daughters shouldn’t be paid as much as men?  What proof of this is there, other than McCaskill’s claims?

On abortion, I have to chuckle when liberals try to paint those who are pro-life as being extremists simply because they’re pro-life.  Do these liberals not understand that the abortion issue was not settled by the Democratic process?  And that this nation is essentially in grid lock over this most controversial of issues?  A huge slice of the country is pro-life, and when McCaskill suggests that these people are extremists she shows just how connected both she and her party are on abortion.

And let’s remember that pregnancies from rape represent a tiny, tiny fraction of all pregnancies in the United States.  But Democrats talk about those pregnancies all the time because they’re making an emotional argument in favor of abortion rather than a logical one.  But logic, and science, tells us that life begins at conception and is a continuum of growth of development thereafter unless interrupted.

Like by a doctor wielding the implements of abortion, for instance.

Finally, why most abortion always be the issue upon which feminism is hung?  I know many strong, independent women with careers and responsibilities and capabilities that are equivalent to those of any men and they’re pro-life.  Is McCaskill suggesting that in order for these women to be true feminists they must also be in favor of abortion?

Comments

Christian or atheist, I personally do not know one pro-life person that wants women to suffer any criminal or civil or even social penalties because they abort their child. Yes, they want abortions to stop, they want to convince women there are options and to help them make life affirming decisions, but none I know of want to hurt these women.

I watched this one, although I’m not a huge fan of Fiorina, I have to say she did well this morning against the shrill McCaskill.  McCaskill could barely hold it in, Fiorina calmly and rationally told the Palin side.

I’m worried the media might be giving all this shrill fear mongering a lot of play though and polls will stop rising this week and start to even out.

Rob,

All you have is your failed attempt to paint Democrats as some sort of emotional train wreck to cover for the reality that the McCain Palin ticket will put raped women who get an abortion in jail for committing “murder” in your mind.

You would be so much more interesting if you stopped acting like a whiny partisan dweeb, and actually presented the facts without your emotional baggage.

Yawn.

ABC… again.

How long did STEPHANOPOULOS allow her to on with this filth, unchallenged??

Sounds like something Charlie Gibson would forcfully ask Sarah Palin to stumble on;
Gibson: Ms. Palin.. Don’t you plan to arrest and jail Women who abort? Women who’ve been Raped?.. After you overturn Roe VS Wade?..
Don’t ya? You do, don’t you?
Doesn’t your Chritian Faith demand it?
You want to imprison Rape victims, don’t you?

And further, you have been falsely attacking Obama for everything under the SUN, based on your projection are we to conclude it was because you were so afraid of him?

Of course you were.  That is why you act like this and spend all your day’s lying about him.

As a man, this is how you choose to play.  It’s pathetic man.

Apparently, Dems have now decided that it should be a woman who attacks Governor Palin.  Claire McCaskill seems to be the living, breathing, PMSing, definition of partisan desperation.  “Shrill” doesn’t begin to cover her performance.

As for Carly Fiorina, she was smooth, relaxed, and at ease crossing swords with McCaskill, who is, intellectually speaking, substantially below Fiorina’s paygrade.  If ABC’s idea was to generate sympathy for the over matched Gov. McCaskill, they failed miserably.

Now your crying over Gibson’s interview?  Too tough?

Liberals didn’t cry about the O’Reilly interview and that was a lot tougher than Palins.

Cry babies.

Of course.  Had we used a male you guys would be crying about sexism again.

Note we didn’t do that with Hillary.

Why such a commitment to being pussies?

Seems like “disconnected” would better describe it?

Another lie from you; What we’re saying is that Gibson should be that tough on Obama, instead of giving him a pass.  Equal treatment, you know.  Even then, ABC had to do deceptive editing to try to cover up the fact that Sarah handed Gibson his head in that “interview”.  Stop squealing, H.

.....substantially below Fiorina’s paygrade.

Very well put, LOL!

Also, would someone please educate the Dimmicrats on the damn plane?  Used Luxury jets are not unlike cars, you don’t sell them for more used -or even equal-than when you bought them.  It just doesn’t happen.  CNN is harping on this one again, trying to paint Palin wrong for selling it the way she did.  Again it will take someone sane like Fiorina or Whitman to educate the idiot democrats that selling the plane was a hell of a lot cheaper than filling it with fuel and flying it, even if you offset it with Palin airfare the way the rest of us travel - on our lousy Airlines.

Nice try Robert, but the name Obama was never mentioned and the comment suggests Palin was bullied.

Just admit that you guys are pussies.  You can’t fix things when you are in denial.

Then again, maybe you can’t fix it....or don’t want to.

She was, and Obama wasn’t.  Are you really this dumb, or are you just a pathological narcissist with a bad case of denial?
As I said, several of us, and several articles have stated, with facts and examples, that Sarah is getting far harsher and blatantly dishonest treatment from your hyenas at the MSM.

Hammerized…

Libbies arn’t shrilling like normal about the O’reilly and Obama interview because O’reilly went easy on him.

How doe’s anyone know someone like the Rev. Wright for 20 years and have no exposure to Wright’s views?
No way, no how.. Wright’s very vocal about them.
Yet, Obama wiggles around this by saying he’s not responsible for everyone he comes in contact with.
Continues to bring his kids to this Church to further their education.
O’reilly gives the “Whitey Hatred” and “USA Hatred” a pass.

So, I guess you’re full of it. As Ususal.

McCaskill was swept into office in the 2006 debacle of an election. She ran right of center, of course…

She’s an embarassment to Missouri and is in NO WAY qualified to speak for the Democrat party, which she is proving more and more.

And Hannitized, you really are a gas bag…
Tell us your candidates business plan again for the economy and fueling it.

First off, it’s Senator McCaskil Rob. Not governor.

All you have is your failed attempt to paint Democrats as some sort of emotional train wreck to cover for the reality that the McCain Palin ticket will put raped women who get an abortion in jail for committing “murder” in your mind.

Really? I’d like to hear how that works. No abortion plan has EVER been introduced that didn’t have excepts for rape, incest, and health of the mother. So, the idea that McCain and Palin will put raped women in jail is a lie.

Kenny and 2Hotel,

If abortion is murder in your eyes, you aren’t going to punish women who commit murder?

Hannitized.

No one has said rape abortions should be illegal. Abortions for rape were legal BEFORE Roe vs Wade. As was incest and health of the mother abortions. Overturning Roe would go back to that.

My personal feelings aren’t relevant to whether or not McCain would put women in jail for having abortions after a rape. Neither have said they would. McCain is not even fully on board for overturning Roe...let alone criminalizing rape abortions.

Again, this talking point is a lie.

So it’s not murder as long as the woman was raped?

Is there any evidence that rape abortions weren’t illegal?  You didn’t reference any and I can’t see how this point is a lie if it fits exactly with the logic the McCain/Palin ticket is promoting.
