Democrat Congressman Induces Perfect Storm Of Left-Wing Conspiracy Theories

Not only does Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison imply that 9/11 was a government conspiracy aimed at fomenting war in the middle east, he also manages to compare the Bush administration to Hitler while doing it by using the Reichstag fire as a metaphor for the terror attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

On comparing Sept. 11 to the burning of the Reichstag building in Nazi Germany: “It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it and it put the leader of that country [Hitler] in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted. The fact is that I’m not saying [Sept. 11] was a [U.S.] plan, or anything like that because, you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-ball box — dismiss you.”

With this Ellison joins the ranks of more nationally-known Democrats with “truther moments” like John Edwards and John Kerry.  Two instances might be isolated events, but three’s a trend.

Here’s a thought for discussion: At the GOP primary debate the Presidential candidates were asked tough questions about their beliefs with regard to evolution.  With Democrats apparently taking these “truthers” and their conspiracy theories seriously, maybe some enterprising reporters should go around asking the Democrat Presidential candidates about their feelings with regard to 9/11 conspiracy theories.

I’d sure like to hear their answers and see if they’re capable of answering directly given how anxious the Democrats are to placate this far-left base.

The question could be very simple: Yes or no, was 9/11 a government plot?

Given how influential 9/11 has been in shaping this nation’s policies over the last several years, I think it’s important to get our national leaders on record about whether or not 9/11 was a conspiracy.  In fact, I think we should get a movement going.  I’d encourage all readers of this blog to contacted their elected leaders and ask them whether or not they feel 9/11 was the act of Islamic extremists or a government plot.  It’s obvious the media isn’t going to do it, so maybe it’s time for we citizens to take this matter into our own hands and settle it once and for all.

If you call your legislators, put the results if your call in the comments.  Or email them to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  I’ll keep a running tally of who has been contacted and who hasn’t here on the blog.

Update: Here’s a call script you can use if you’re not sure how to broach the subject:

In recent months more than one prominent national politician has made comments alluding to the possibility that the 9/11 attacks were the result of some sort of government or corporate conspiracy rather than the acts of Islamic extremists.  I am calling to determine whether or not (insert name of Senator or Representative) feels that 9/11 was a conspiracy rather than a terrorist attack.

I think it’s more likely that your politicians will speak freely in front of a moonbat crowd.

I doubt they’ll answer honestly to a random question.

By the way Rob, your Senator Byron Dorgan is on the moonbat parade:

Pheonix,

Could you please explain why?  Is it because they would divide the population into special interests groups then promise them the moon to get their votes?  Is it because they would define morality by popular vote?  Is it because the would overturn constitutional rights through judicial activism and devise a poll to say the majority want it that way?  Is it because the elite know what is best for the masses and if dumbed down enough the majority will not know any better?

There is nothing democratic about Democrats!

Besides, respect is something to be earned, not passed out like so many Food Stamps.

If the democrats were in the business of accurately representing themselves and their liberal agenda they might gain some respect from their ideological and political opponents.  They could start by calling themselves socialists.

First read about how top American military commanders advised Roosevelt, while public opinion was against joining the war, against keeping all of our battleships docked within striking distance of the Japanese with hostilities on the verge of boiling over but he insisted.

Then take the time to read the writings of Cheney, Jebb Bush, and others in 1997, well before the 9/11 attacks, and consider how close they are to what happened and what is happening, it’s only a small leap. In fact, it’s just a short step.

Phoenix Demofuck, it is the Democrat Party. Democratic is descriptive of process. Lay off the crack, leftard.

As for Democrat Party Retardative Ellison and his “theory”, if he wants me to buy in he has to first convincingly explain how a .30 bullet passes through a carseat back, enters the thoracic cavity of one person, does a 45 degree turn, exits the thoracic cavity, does another 45 degree turn, and another 45 degree turn, re-enters the thoracic cavity and strikes subject B in the head, from the front, multiple turns in that path, does a 180 degree turn and strikes subject B again. And turns up, several hours later, unscratched and bloodless, lying on a hospital gurney.

Arlen Sphyncter never pulled it off with a straight face, perhaps Democrat Party Retardative Ellison could do better.

Hey, you guys need to get busy calling your congressmen about this.  I got home to late tonight to make any calls (I guess I could have maybe got the Alaska guys home offices, and maybe the Hawaii people) but I can’t call them all.

My wife is going to be making a bunch of calls tomorrow, but we need help.  Man the phones!

9/11 was not directly caused by the GOP any more than by a butterfly fart. But it has been a political windfall for the GOP.

Some Examples:

1. Bush’s second term was won due in part to the video of Osama Bin Laden, released by just a Bush/GOP run government, 4 days before the 2004 presidential election. Regardless of lack of evidence of WHERE AND WHEN the video was recorded it still managed to scare and manipulate a margin of swing-voting sheeple to vote for a scare-tactic regime.

2. Two words: Rudy Giuliani
Every chance Rudy gets he mentions 9/11 to gain sympathy for his Presidential campaign. It’s sickeningly blatant.

And you people call Michael Moore an opportunist? These are just two examples. There are more but I don’t have enough time or interest to elaborate here.

BTW: As a registered Democrat I have come to expect the worst from the GOP (Example: recent calls for Presidential pardoning of a man CONVICTED of TREASON by a jury of his peers etc. etc.) but hope for the best. This reduces my disappointment/shock of GOP activities quite a bit. From the sound of what Rob wrote above you people should do the same RE: Democrats.

Dorothy Vallens on July 10, 2007 at 12:45 am

So,Dorothy, when was William Jefferson Clinton tried and convicted for his treason committed in the commiegate affair? I missed that one.

This line of crap has been bubbling along under the surface since 2001. It is a staple of Democrat Party doctrine. America is evil, Americans are evil, only the Democrat Party has any virtue or honesty or patriotism. All republicans are evil murdering baby killers who want to enslave the entire human race and destroy the environment and eat all the dead babies.

I got little reason to call our Congress members, being as they are led by Arlen Sphyncter, of course they believe Bush flew the airplanes into the WTC and Pentagon personally. We will call anyway, just to piss in Sphyncter’s bowl of cherrios. They got to be tired of us calling. Citizens are supposed to be silent and give money and nothing else. They rumblings in the halls of power are to find a way to shut off all these citizens calling and emailing and showing up at their offices and at the Capital.

Mark my words, politicians of both stripes are tired of people sticking their noses into their business, and are quietly discussing how to shut citizens up.

Does this mean we can put him in the nut ball box? It’s amazing the pandering politicians will exhibit in order to garner support from the fringe elements of society. At least with the internet we can find reporting on it - you certainly won’t see anything on the evening news about it.

... Presidential pardoning of a man CONVICTED of TREASON by a jury of his peers etc.

Do you get off telling lies? Treason? I distinctly remember it being called perjury - something quite different in kind and magnitude from treason.

It’s good to see perjury being taken seriously by Democrats now - not like when their President lied under oath in front of judge. Then perjury was fine - in fact, it was a sign of Clinton’s lovable rascally character. Now you guys can’t distinguish it from handing another nation the CIA’s NOC list.

PS: A DC jury (i.e. 100% Democrats) sitting in judgment of a Republican in a politically charged case is not exactly a jury of one’s peers for the Republican ...

Martin A. Knight on July 10, 2007 at 05:30 am

Dorothy.  Convicted of treason?  Where did you hear that lie.  Look it up online:  “Libby was convicted on four counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements, and was acquitted of one count of making false statements. “

And if a person is considering that leaking Valerie Plame’s name was treason then Libby wasn’t the one that did that.

I’m afraid I would have to agree with the gist of EWS48. Bush should have moved the twin towers because he KNEW that OBL et;al wanted to destroy them. He should have relocated one to Chicago, and one Denver so that they weould have been harder for the Freedumb fighters to attack.

Hey Dorothy,
Where in hell do you come up with treason? Libby is stupid, sure, but treason? Plame was NOT covert, had not been in the field in over five years, had been exposed by the Russians years before, and that is where the investigation should have ended. America got taken for a ride courtsey of Fitz on that one. Why did that happen? once it became obvious that Plame was NOT covert, the investigation SHOULD HAVE ENDED, unless of course, they hit Joe Wilson with a charge for his false statements.
Fitz wasted millions of our tax dollars for nothing! He did not get charges on the person responsible for not commiting a crime when he (Armitage) leaked her name. Instead we got a wild goose chase.

I can tell you watch only Fox news.  Plame had been undercover oversees numerous times within the five years before she was outed under the cover of Brewster Jennings and Associates.  She had not been stationed oversees, though that is not a requirement to be covert.  The CIA claims she was covert.  Patrick Fitzegerald made a finding that she was covert.  You need to do some research outside of your “talking points”.

Lestat on July 11, 2007 at 10:57 pm

lestupid, Plame worked in house overseas. She was not ever a covered asset. And the PuzzlePalace has said yes and no, no and yes on the Plame affair. Ambiguous as always. As for her hubby, when will he explain how 500 tons of yellowcake arrived in Iraq between the years 1996 to 2000? Did it just spontaneously generate out of the atmosphere? Or did they perhaps purchase it from the Mining and Minerals Ministry of Niger? An office Mr Wilson has close financial and personal ties to. That is the reason he was tapped to go there in the first place.

Lestat,

Your documentation for the claim that Plame had been “undercover overseas numerous times” would be very much appreciated.

The overseas posting IS a requirement of the 1982 Intelligence Identities Protection Act.

Brewster Jennings and Associates is the employer listed by one Valerie Plame on the Federal Election Commission forms required to document her campaign contributions to both AlGore and John Kerry.

Finally, please document your claim the the CIA has stated that Valerie Plame was “covert.”  Unless I am very much mistaken, the employment of all CIA and NSA persons, except the so-called “political” appointees, is nominally classified.  For example, John Kringen, head of CIA’s Analysis Directorate, who testified before the House Armed Services Committee yesterday.  But classified is not the same thing as covert, either in a dictionary or the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (50 USC 421).  What Mr. Fitzgerald may have said, in or out of court, is hardly any more relevant than what you or I may have said.  No violation of IIPA was ever charged, much less proven in court, despite the fact that DoJ has known since before Fitzgerald’s appointment that Armitage was Bob Novak’s source.

Incidentally, if the so-called “outing” of Valerie Plame was such an awful thing, why is there no outrage from your side of the aisle over the publication of highly classified, codeword, intelligence gathering operation by the NY Times in clear violation of Title 18, Section 793?  Your indignation, and that of your fellow travelers, seems to be suspiciously selective and partisan in nature.  Perhaps you can explain the disparity?

When I read the act it says “serves” not posted.  Which I believe would mean that you can go undercover oversees for short periods of time, without being posted their.

Isn’t that the point of having a cover company?  So you can conduct your personal business as if that was your employer.  What’s your point?

Hawk on July 12, 2007 at 07:22 am

Brewster Jennings was as well known as CIA, as Valerie Plame Wilson was on the DC cocktail circuit.

Still awaiting some sort of authoritative documentation supporting Valerie’s covert status and her covert “service” overseas during the 5 year relevant period.  If you’ve read the statute, you should know what’s required to make the case.  Where is it?

Of course, then we’ll be looking for an explanation of her role in sending Wilson to Niger, twice, and then his lies about why he went and what he found, and on, and on, and on…  It’s all so tiresome.  Like trying to teach a dyslexic kid to read.

Look, if there was a case against anyone for IIPA violation, it has not been made.  Not by Fitzgerald, nor by any of you heroes of the Left.  Find another windmill.
