“This bill has more poison pills in it than Rasputin’s medicine cabinet. Everything is thrown in here. And it was thrown in, in the middle of the night,” says Rep. Jim Moran (D – VA).

Give him some credit for originality in metaphors, I guess, but if Democrats don’t even have the stomach for $4 billion in spending cuts when our annual budget deficit is over $1.5 trillion it’s hard to say they’re serious at all about fixing our fiscal mess.

By the way, the House just passed the continuing resolution Moran was railing against including $4 billion in cuts.
