Democrat Candidate Running From Obama: “I Voted For McCain!”
And the award for who can run away from President Obama the furthest and the fastest goes to “Blue Dog” Democrat Gene Taylor of Mississippi:
MS-04: Embattled Blue Dog Rep. Gene Taylor is taking Democratic efforts to distance themselves from the White House to a whole new level, telling the Sun Herald of South Mississippi: “I did not vote for Obama. I voted for Sen. McCain. Better the devil you know.”
That’s not all. Taylor has already signed a pledge to repeal Obamacare and said he would not support Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker if Democrats keep their majority.
McCain won Taylor’s district with 67 percent in 2008, so Taylor is in good company. Once viewed as a safe hold for Democrats, Cook Political Report recently changed its rating for the contest between Taylor and GOP challenger Steven Palazzo to “toss up.”
Meanwhile, in Rhode Island, Democrat candidate for Governor Frank Caprio is saying that Obama can “shove” his endorsement.
Discussion question: In this political atmosphere, is snuggling up to John McCain really any better than snuggling up to Barack Obama?Tags: Barack Obama, eleciton 2010, gene taylor, john mccain, mississippi
