This does look good. I am not a so much a Ron Howard fan, but I have been waiting for this one for a long time.
I still can’t picture Tom Hanks as the main character, but who knows? Maybe I’ll get lucky and the movie will turn out good.
I’m not a huge Ron Howard fan, but I think the story in this one will win out in the end. It really is a good story. Kind of plays fast and loose with some of the history, but nothing too awful.
Hanks totally wasn’t who I would have picked for the role. Honestly, when I read the book I kept picturing Bill Pullman as Langdon. Actually, I kept picturing Dan Brown as Langdon, but thought Pullman (who sort of looks like Brown) would be an obvious choice for the movie. But just as far as looks go. Pullman really isn’t that good of an actor.
Did any of you guys here that Brown was getting sued for lifting parts of the story from another book called Holy Blood, Holy Grail? I’ve been wanting to read that book ever since Amazon recommended it along with Da Vinci Code…

Yeah, I heard about that. I recently got “holy blood, holy grail” in the mail and it is next on my list to read. interesting stuff
I’ve been going to buy it a couple of times in the book store, but always had something else I wanted to read first. You’ll have to let me know how it is.
What’s interesting though is that interest in Holy Blood, Holy Grail skyrocketed because of Da Vinci Code’s popularity. I read somewhere that Amazon’s pairing of the two books together (they do that where if you buy one book you can buy a second, similar book at a discounted price) brought HB, HG almost back up to the bestseller list.
Because of that, it will be interesting to see what the authors of HB, HG claim as damages.
