Cynical Democratic Maneuverings, Blunderings Provide Levity

Or that's how the CNN headline should have gone.

Democratic Sen. Carl Levin accuses
the administration of playing politics
with Iraq pullout plans.

Personally, I find this ROTF LMAO funny given the cynical nature of the Democratic machinations on Iraq. Senator Levin is right on one thing: "Bush will use withdrawal as political tool in election"

Heck, yeah. Your opponents just did their best cheese-eating surrender monkey impression. Now that a time table is being established that will, say, not through away the lives of the people who died in Iraq, and winning the war is near inevitable. Yes, Bush will use this for whatever it's worth. He has earned it.

And bad news keeps piling on: Iraq oil output hits a new high

So you were against a phased withdrawal before you were for it?

Nobody was opposed to phased withdrawal.  What.. did you think I was advocating maintaining the same force level, or moving all of them out in one day?  Pretty hilarious in either case.

The problem is with who should dictate it and under what circumstances. Mindless congressional withdrawals is not the same as withdrawals linked with establishing internal security in Iraq.

My belief is that the people qualified to make the decision should be making the decision.  Clearly the Democratic congressmen don’t agree with this:

Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden said Sunday that a resolution to the situation in Iraq would not come through the military.

That’s pure and unadulterated BS.  Fortunately, the Republicans do:

[Mitch McConnell said] “Congress ought not to be dictating to the generals what the tactics are.”

This is all about damage control on the part of the left.  Which is why it’s simultaneously cynical on their part and ROTF funny at the same time.

The left has invested so much in the US losing this war, that the prospect of victory on the horizon must make you guys completely sick.

rbb: What part of “We’ll stand down as the Iraqis stand up” didn’t you understand?
