Comments

As I'm sure you're all aware comments have been weird all day today. Some of them have been mangled by the spam filter and others have been blocked entirely.

I have no idea why the spam filter freaked out today. In the past its had a few problems but all and all once a commenter established themselves with a number of approved comments there wasn't a problem. Today, for some reason, even some of Say Anything's most prolific commenters were being blocked.

I just got done weeding through the spam digests and pulling out all of the good comments I could find and posting them. Some of them may appear under my name in your notification emails. That's sort of unavoidable, but I've edited all the comments to reflect the proper authors. Some of the comments were truncated in the digests so I had to skip them. I'm sorry.

The site did get slammed with a big spam attack today, so I don't know if that made the spam filter freak out or what. I'm more than a little bit frustrated with the whole thing. I can promise you that nobody is being blocked on purpose, this is all just a technical glitch. I'm doing my best, so just bear with me.

Anyway, feel free to try commenting below. If you have a problem shoot me an email and I'll see what I can do to fix it.

SpamKarma...but since a recent upgrade I’be been having problems with false positives.

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

Well, that explains why Carol’s post was under your name…. LOL… I knew it wasn’t you…

Yeah...that happened to a Jadegold post as well.  It showed up as Rob talking with the gravatar and all, but something wasn’t right.  Rob was speaking as a nutball who didn’t make sense.  I thought the site was about to give us a wild ride or that maybe someone had taken over Rob’s account, and then I refreshed my screen to see that it wasn’t Rob who had spit out the nonsense.

It happened right before you showed up Rob.  Forgot to mention that to you.

Yeah, this happens when I’m re-posting legit comments from other people who got blocked.  Sometimes they post under me by accident.  Then I have to go back in and edit the comment to reflect who really posted it.
