Code Pink Protester Gets Slammed To Ground By Cops
This is a pretty shocking video from the protests at the Democrat National Convention (potty mouth warning):
Personally, I have a hard time finding sympathy for either side in this little conflict.
On one hand, I know how these protesters operate. When they decide to make a scene they usually swarm the cops, hurling obscenities and generally not doing what they’re told to do, and when the cops are finally baited into action the protesters struggle and flail about and generally try to make themselves look like the victims of overly-aggressive (and no doubt “fascist” in their estimation) cops for their buddies standing around taking pictures and video.
It all makes for great YouTube.
On the other hand, this cop cross-checking the girl was clearly uncalled for. The cop lost his temper (as evidenced by his “back up bitch” comment), and while he was absolutely baited into it there’s no excuse to my mind for using that level of force in that situation.
But, again, I think the Code Pinkers generally ask for this stuff. They go out looking to be treated like this so that they can set themselves up as some sort of free-speech martyrs (as if the 1st amendment covered things like blocking traffic, disrupting other people’s events and resisting arrest), but that still doesn’t excuse the cops when they take the bait.
