I am very, extremely surprised that CNN bothered to do an article about this.

One week from now Rob, you and Sean Hannity will be the only ones still talking about Bill Ayers. The rest of the known world will concern themselves with more pressing problems - like the economic crisis.

I wonder if the world will know that the world economy has been brought to the brink of destruction by socialistic democratic party policies.

I wonder if the world will know that America is at risk of going into a depression because democratic party insiders got to run Fannie Mae and made hundreds of millions of dollars while carrying out dangerous social engineering schemes.

I wonder if the world will know that two major democratic contrinuters, the Sandlers, made tens of billions of dollars selling subprime mortgages, then unloading their company on Wachovia Bank.

You’re most likely right. In the grand scheme of things Obama’s bomb setting buddy is not as important as how the democrats destroyed the economy, and how Obama plans more of the same.

I’d be happy to talk about that too.  Where should we begin?  The fact that the economic crisis was the result of too much government intervention in the markets?  Or Obama’s Democrats blocking any efforts to reform Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac for years?

Of course, we can talk about more than just one issue this year right?  Maybe we can talk about the economic crisis and Obama’s connections to left-wing radicals?

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

PALIN: Darn right it was the predator lenders, who tried to talk Americans into thinking that it was smart to buy a $300,000 house if we could only afford a $100,000 house. There was deception there, and there was greed and there is corruption on Wall Street. And we need to stop that.

Again, John McCain and I, that commitment that we have
made, and we’re going to follow through on that, getting rid of that corruption.

One thing that Americans do at this time, also, though, is let’s commit ourselves just every day American people, Joe Six Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together and say never again. Never will we be exploited and taken advantage of again by those who are managing our money and loaning us these dollars. We need to make sure that we demand from the federal government strict oversight of those entities in charge of our investments and our savings and we need also to not get ourselves in debt. Let’s do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don’t live outside of our means. We need to make sure that as individuals we’re taking personal responsibility through all of this. It’s not the American peoples fault that the economy is hurting like it is, but we have an opportunity to learn a heck of a lot of good lessons through this and say never again will we be taken advantage of.

Rob, I can see why you have claimed over and over again that you will not be voting for this big government gop ticket.

Oh so, Obama and the Dems blocking reform of just Fannie/Freddie caused the whole mortgage mess??

Sorry guys, as you can see, America isn’t buying that!

Ask Liddy Dole why her candidacy is in trouble? Ask Mitch McConnell why his race is in trouble. Then ask the Dems why they will be picking up more seats in the Senate than they expected.

No. Because economic issues are very complex, and the media that reports on them (A) Doesn’t like dealing with complex issues, and (B) is perfectly happy to let the Republicans take the blame for everything that goes wrong with the country. Especially if it helps the media’s favorite candidate get elected.

The fact is that if the Democrats hadn’t directed banks to make more loans to people who couldn’t afford to buy a house, we woudn’t be in this mess.

@RBB:  Oh, so because Rob has to drop back and punt on the least evil of the two realistic choices for Pres his point about government intervention in the markets is somehow wrong?

Nice try on the misdirection.  Like Rob, I’m not in lockstep with McCain/Palin either.  That doesn’t mean that government intervention didn’t screw up the market.

The “FairVote”, a voting system that gives each voter a vote for every dollar they contribute in taxes, is the ultimate in taxation with representation.  Bring this up in roomful of lefties and you’ll see just how tolerant they really are.

As someone who’s worried about Ayer’s influence on the education system since before Obama got elected to the Senate, the issue has never been the bombs Ayers set when Obama was 8 years old.

Ayers is not a former radical. He is a Marxist class warior who uses the Illinoise school system to carry out his war. He no longer seeks to hurt America by setting bombs, but by turning America’s children against their own country.

The most dangerous work of Ayer’s career was not his bomb setting, but his extremist work in education, work that Barack Obama helped him with.
