CNN Calls Pennsylvania For Clinton: White, Female And Late-Deciding Voters Went For Hillary

Interesting…

(CNN) — CNN just called the Pennsylvania primary race for Hillary Clinton. How did she win?

Her clear support from white voters and women. Both groups constituted large majorities in Tuesday’s primary, and both voted for Clinton handily.

Whites made up over 80 percent of Pennsylvania Democrats. Clinton bested Obama among those voters by 20 points, 60 to 40 percent.

Women also constituted a clear majority of Pennsylvania primary voters – 56 percent. They voted for Clinton by a 12-point margin, 56 to 44 percent.

Another reason Clinton won? She beat Obama easily among late-deciders. Those voters who decided in the last three days went for the New York senator by a 15-point margin, 57 percent to 42 percent.

The late-deciding voters are the most interesting aspect, and perhaps a harbringer of things to come for Obama.  His supporters are quick to claim that the Wright/Ayers/"bitter" comments scandals didn’t hurt their candidate, but clearly they had an impact on voters in Pennsylvania.

Even if Obama wins the primary, and that’s still likely, there are masses of general election voters who haven’t been paying close attention to the primaries.  Meaning there are big new audiences out there for Obama’s Wright/Ayers/Rezko/"bitter" scandals to play to.  And I don’t think those topics are going to sit well with those voters.

Obama can win the Democrat nomination, but he’s toast in terms of the general election.

His wishy-washy profile on tax cuts

Just how he plans on cutting 100 billion in spending

Jay:  he only needs to explain one thing… what will happen to this country if Obama or Clinton are elected.

The stakes are high. Whether the issue is the economy, or energy, or the federal courts or national security, the right answers are coming not from the Democrats, but from the Republicans. And the Dem candidate simply replies “do you want another 4 years of this crap?”

Given that most of the Bush administration’s term in office has been marked by significant economic growth I think the answer to that is “yes please.”

I mean, Bush isn’t perfect, but do you have any idea what Obama’s stupid tax policies will do to this economy?  I mean, nearly doubling the capital gains tax?

Do you know why home prices are down right now?  Because there’s a glut of homes on the market.  Why do you think so many Americans are looking to sell their homes right now?

Because they’re afraid the Demcorats are going to rob their profits if they take the White House.

And I’m not even going to start talking about increases in government spending.  No amount of schmoopy nonsense about “hope” and “change” is going change my opinion about that.

I’ve never been a fan of John McCain, but I’ll take four years of him over four years of Obama or Hillary in a heartbeat.

Keating will be tough on McCain, but I’m laughing my ass off that you’re bringing up tax cuts.  Are you saying that it’s going to be tough for McCain to explain that he sided with Democrats on tax cuts?

You’re about one non sequitur away from an existential crisis Jay.

As for the “100 year war” thing, we all know what McCain meant when he said it.  We’re not the sort of dolts that make up Obama audiences, so peddle your dishonesty somewhere else.

Umm...are you serious right now?  Or are you parodying yourself?

Nice try.  You’re too smart to play dumb Rob.  It’s not becoming.  Are you telling me you don’t care about consistency?  Or are you saying that people should disregard it?  The GOP relied fairly heavily on consistency in stance in 2004.  Is it OK now to waffle, since it’s the GOP candidate doing the waffling?

Sally,

I’ve got to disagree with you.  Today’s best one-liner, from Rob again, is,

You’re about one non sequitur away from an existential crisis, Jay.

Absolutely exquisite!!!

And then the guy complaining about the big bad elitist democrat calls the people who don’t buy into his nonsense “dolts”.  This is rich.  Consistency abound.
