CNN Anchors Suck It Up On Jeopardy, Blame The Buzzer

Two CNN reporters, Wolf Blitzer and Soledad O’Brien, appeared on episodes of celebrity Jeopardy recently and got schooled by Hollywood celebrities and professional athletes. Their excuse?
“The buzzer is complicated.”

CNN should consider banning its anchors from appearing on “Celebrity Jeopardy” after the humiliating defeats of Wolf Blitzer and Soledad O’Brien. Wolf was blitzed last month, coming in last with minus-$4,600, behind comic Andy Richter, a past winner who racked up $68,000 for charity. “Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany came in second. This month, it was O’Brien’s turn against NBA legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Michael McKean, of “Spinal Tap,” “Laverne & Shirley” and “Saturday Night Live.” McKean, a previous winner, ended with $24,800, followed by Abdul Jabbar with $8,800 and O’Brien with $6,200. A CNN insider defended the journalists: “They are reporters, not trivia experts. And the buzzer is complicated. It’s not activated until Alex [Trebek] finishes the last syllable of the question. If you hit the button too soon, nothing happens.”

Just for your information, it takes a special type of stupidity to get beat out by Kareem Abdul Jabar:

Why do you think getting beaten by him is so bad?

After the double jeopardy round, Wolf ended up with -$4600. MINUS $4600. Since we are on the topic of Jeopardy a little trivia seems appropriate. You cannot go backwards in score by not pressing the button. You have to press the button (because you think you know the answer) and then answer incorrectly. After watching some youtube videos, it appears that he had the first requirement of becoming a Jeopardy winner down pat: pressing the button.

Wolf and Soledad aren’t really journalist but they have jobs at a ‘News’ network. They aren’t trivial experts – who is? Is that a job title somewhere? Not only are they losers at Jeopardy, they are suspect as ‘journalist’. As journalist they are supposed to research and verify reports to be journalists – but that does not give them the stories they seek. Fraud and cover ups are the way of the future for the state run media. CNN is just the latest joke in the media. They seem to be right there at the bottom of the ratings list. Maybe if they just admitted that they are not a ‘real news’ outlet they would do better.

CNN anchor more dumber than Squiggy.

    That hurts.

Personally I think [Kareem's] the greatest, but my dad says [he doesn't] work hard enough on defense.

: And he says that lots of times, [he doesn't] even run down court. And that [he doesn't] really try… except during the playoffs.

I could see how pressing a button could be a complicated task for a liberal.

Some celebs are not as quick with their fingers as others, say like….David Letterman.

Ha ha. Blame it on the buzzer. The truth comes out: They can read cue cards and… well… that’s it. I would take pride in kicking Coyote Blizzard’s a** at Jeopardy.

Also, I’ve heard Kareem Abdul-Jabbar give a speech before and he seemed well spoken to me. Why do you think getting beaten by him is so bad? Is he supposed to be a dummy or something?

“They are reporters, not trivia experts”

Funny how the reporters were treating Palin like she was a triva expert.

HG offers: I will jump at anything to diss on a liberal.

It’s getting cold out this month… must be the liberals.
