Clueless Huckabee: Let’s Build A Border Fence To Protect Against Illegal Immigrants From…Pakistan?

Good grief:

DES MOINES — Mike Huckabee used the volatile situation in Pakistan Friday to make an argument for building a fence on the American border with Mexico and found himself trying to explain a series of remarks about Pakistanis and their nation.

On Thursday night he told reporters in Orlando, Fla.: “We ought to have an immediate, very clear monitoring of our borders and particularly to make sure if there’s any unusual activity of Pakistanis coming into the country.”

On Friday, in Pella, Iowa, he expanded on those remarks.

“When I say single them out I am making the observation that we have more Pakistani illegals coming across our border than all other nationalities except those immediately south of the border,” he told reporters in Pella. “And in light of what is happening in Pakistan it ought to give us pause as to why are so many illegals coming across these borders.”

In fact, far more illegal immigrants come from the Philippines, Korea, China and Vietnam, according to recent estimates from the Department of Homeland Security.

This goes beyond mere cluelessness to outright stupidity.

I would think that the millions of Mexican illegals who flow across our border every year would be enough to warrant a border fence without resorting to rather bizarre concerns over illegals coming from a nation on the other side of the globe.  But Huckabee’s concerns about Pakistani illegals are even more bizarre when you factor in his support for entitlements for illegal immigrants already in this country.

If Huckabee hasn’t got the brains of an acorn at his age, to look up Pakistan, or call a friend who knows something about Pakistan, and get a briefing before he swallows both feet up to his hips several times in one day, he doesn’t rate the slightest consideration of whether to vote for him or not.

Since I live fairly close to the Mexico border, I knew that about him, last Spring, when he told teens that giving the ILLEGAL ALIENS the VOTE would lead to the overturn of ROE v WADE, because they would all vote for “FAMILY VALUES”.
At first, I thought it hadn’t seemed to register on him that “Family Values” to ILLEGAL ALIENS meant “ENTITLEMENTS” ( = Dim votes = + Abortion Rights) - but then I heard that he believes we owe ILLEGAL ALIENS SLAVE REPARATIONS - so I knew he DOES know they think “Family Values” is AMERICAN TAX-FUNDED ENTITLEMENTS.

No vote for him. Not in the Primaries, AND NOT IN THE GENERAL.

More proof that he’s a clown.

The easiest way to get into the U.S. illegally is to go to Mexico or Canada first.

The best way is through an American University.

I am a Canadian who was reading Huckabee’s statement about Pakistany (or is it Pakistanie) would be terrorists breaching your obviously pourous border. It immediately occured to me that there must more illegal Canadians than those sneaky above mentioned folks crossing over. I was ammused to read on and discover I was right in my assumption, and officialy knew more abooot your foreign policy than Governor Huckabee. Alright eh!

I guess it would be hard building a fence in the moutainous area of Pakistan.

Actually, Huckabee has a point, as ICE agents do report a certain percentage of “other than Mexicans” coming across the border, including a certain portion whose favored religious text is the Qu’ran.  Couple that with relatively lax law enforcement in Mexico and the ability to drive a truck-load of who knows what right across the border, and there is a very real concern.

Easier to do this than to get a student or tourist visa and try to put things together where the BATF can find you out?  I don’t know, but I bet some people are working hard to figure it out.
