Chia Obama Banned From Walgreen’s Stores

Probably because the green “hair” looks like an afro. And that’s racist. Or, one would presume that’s the reaction from the average liberal.

No, we can’t — buy the Chia Obama at some Walgreen’s stores.
Some local Walgreen’s store managers are not amused by this latest offering from the creators of the Chia Pet and have pulled the item from their shelves. The story from the Fox affiliate in Tampa Bay linked above doesn’t really explain why but it seems reasonable to guess that somebody somewhere was offended.

Liberals have no sense of humor.

    It’s certainly within their purview to do ban it from their stores.

    If they refused to carry products like this (nontraditional portrayal) of the last president I have no problem with this.

    On the other hand if they are inconsistent depending on WHO the president is I don’t care for it.

    There isn’t any Walgreens in my area so I really don’t know.

    Get ready for more stuff like this, it’s the beginning of the crumbling of the 1st amendment. Censorship of this kind of stuff will continue to work it’s way into our lives. One must not offend the ‘great messiah’ and be labeled a “Racist” after all, he has made history! The crumbling has started already with the media, all but a few are scared into submission and are “on the “O” program…” Thank goodness for Rush and other talk radio hosts – at least until the “O” administration shuts them down.

    Second, who said this had anything to do with Liberals? It said managers and how do you know the managers just aren’t adults who have more respect for the presidency and class than to allow those to be sold.

    Another non story that Rob attributes to liberals, with out any evidence.

    Now…let’s get back to the meat. The article he linked said “some” Walgreens. Rob presented it as all Walgreens. And he also tied it to Liberals, when the article makes no such mention.

    But, by all means. Focus on the trivial details C.

    You know, my response was not in defense of anything. Just simply stating Rob had jumped to a conclusion without any facts.

    I typically look over the edge of a bridge for water before somebody asks me to jump off. Hell, even Whistler saw my point.

    Now, as to being liberal. If more of my conservative counter parts were like my friend Grim Beorn, and less like Proof and Move_Zig……2Hotel and all those dopes. it would be a lot easer to move to the right.

    But, unfortunately, in their zest to be downright partisan for partisan sake, they make the mistake of over playing their hand and forcing me to stick up for what is right and recognizing what is wrong.

    Sometimes Rob gets it right. Most of the time he gets it wrong.

    I keep a lot of my true beliefs to myself and spend most of my time mud wrestling with some of these guys just to see what they’ve got.

    It’s just interesting that they can make a Chia head–face totally devoid of any sort of specific race (it’s just a human head), then when they make a Chia head of Obama, it’s racist. Is him being black all we’re going to be hearing about him, not his accomplishments, qualifications, actions, or flaws? You know, the stuff that makes us all individuals?

    This was indeed a business decision, a majority of people elected our president, would any business leader put something on their shelves that could possibly offend half of their customers? Doubt it…

    I’d say it was pulled more because the safe bet is to not sell it, then because liberals have no sense of humor.
