Charlie Rangel: Giuliani Is Embarrassing

Not exactly what Rudy’s campaign needs as the GOP candidates busy themselves making overtures to “values voters.”

WASHINGTON (CNN) — New York Rep. Charlie Rangel, a prominent supporter of Hillary Clinton, sharply criticized Republican presidential frontrunner Rudy Giuliani’s personal life Monday, highlighting the fact that the former New York City mayor and his wife have each been married three times.

“Two people, six spouses. It’s a little complicated if you’re not religious, especially if you’re running against a Mormon,” Rangel told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in a reference to Giuliani’s chief rival, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. For the record, Romney has only been married once.

“I think America has to look at all these things, and there are enough moles on this man that embarrasses those of us who have sought public life,” the 19-term New York congressman added. “When we get involved in public life, it means we’re in a goldfish bowl. It would seem to me, with all the breaks the mayor had, being involved with his personal problems, he would thank God he’s gotten as far as he did go without making the politicians get involved in his personal life.”

He may have gotten this far, but he’s never campaigned against a Clinton before.

Rudy attempted a Senate run against Hillary. He raised $20 million for the race and backed out.

Are we suppose to elect a saint or a capable leader to be our next president ?

Edward Lee on October 22, 2007 at 06:30 pm

WOOF, he was beating the crap out of Hillary in that Senate run until he had a little problem called PROSTATE CANCER.

Nice try making it sound like he was afraid of her or something.

Ken McCracken on October 22, 2007 at 06:35 pm

Heh, not to mention, Clinton supporters have quite a lot of nerve criticizing other people’s personal lives.

Aren’t the Clintons the ones who bleated endlessly about how they are entitled to a private life, and berated the ‘politics of personal destruction?’

For the Clintons or their lackeys to point their fingers at the way anyone runs their life is the very height of hypocrisy.

Ken McCracken on October 22, 2007 at 06:37 pm

Emmm. Is this coming from the people who were griping about the blowjob for THREE FUCKING YEARS? Oh, it is! What an uncomfortable bed y’all have made, moralists n such.

His marital cancer showed up at the same time.
A double wammy.

WOOF on October 22, 2007 at 06:55 pm

Speak for yourself Sparkie.

The Clintons can’t move the goalposts now and claim that anyone’s private life is fair game.

Well yes they can, and we have a word for it: hypocrisy.

So because conservatives wanted the PRESIDENT to behave himself in the WHITE HOUSE and not treat it as a frat house, we conservatives now have to accept that the same moral standard be applied to us?  Okay, I give, how is divorce on the same moral plane as adultery by oral sex in the oval office with a college intern 25+ yrs the younger?

Talk about your false analogies… jeez.

Charlie Rangel: Giuliani Is Embarrassing

I’d say Rangel is embarrassing. And that would be generous!

Charlie Rangel wants to raise taxes more than a TRILLION dollars!
What’s moral about that?
The fruits of one’s labor belongs to the person who earned it, not some lazy greedy politician and his lazy sycophants!

So, let us talk about how many wives a a candidate has had in the last few years.

As I remember, Bill Clinton had a lot of wives, unfortunately none were married to him.

Moral issues, involving the family, and exploring the consequences is really not a place the dims want to go.

The smartest woman in the world could not figure how to keep Bill’s dick in his pants…. laughable.

‘coming from people complaining about a blow job’

So much for National Organization of Women and their feminist hatred of all things ‘male chauvanist piggers’.

Odd how today’s feminists support the boss getting his rod sucked off at the office by an underling half his age while the good wife stands by her man.

syn on October 23, 2007 at 04:53 am

The left is actually throwing stones about personal lives. Wow. When did the moral relativists ever start giving a crap about somebodys “personal choices” other than to reflexively defend them no matter what the circumstances.

I think the lefties must be awful scared of Rudy if this weak sauce is the best they’re dredging up.

Is this coming from the people who were griping about the blowjob for THREE FUCKING YEARS?

Who was griping about the blowjob…I remember people were a little miffed he perjured himself lying about that blow job, but why split hairs when you can change the narrative, right. Oh, and nothing like a sitting President opening himself up to sexual harassment charges by engaging in sex with a subordinate. But, when did Bubba ever care about sex crime charges.

And please, let’s sit around and trade stories about Rudy and Hillary. Hillary will come across as a much bigger scumbag than Rudy on his worst day.

There are three reasons for throwing insults
1. Self-Satisfaction
2. Envy
3. Truth
No doubt Hillary Clinton has all three.

people who were griping about the blowjob

Sparkie, There may have complaints about Clinton’s behavior during his presidency but I seriously doubt any man ever complained about a bj

Actually it was witness tampering and obstruction of justice, if you want to be technical.

I think the main issue that turned people on Clinton is that he was able to look right into the camera and lie to every American without even batting an eye.

And then tell you it wasn’t a lie, depending on what your definition of “is” is!

Isn’t Slick Hilly married to a serial adulterer? She has known about all his affairs from the beginning. It isn’t as if Bill ever tried to hide it. After all, damage control was her job when Bubba was president. She was the one who controlled the defamation machine against all those women. Any woman with self respect would of dumped his fat a** long ago.

  Give me a break Charlie.

Matt,

By the rule of universalism you have just rendered Charlie Rangel’s argument as worthless.

Thanks

Is this coming from the people who were griping about the blowjob for THREE FUCKING YEARS?

Former Senator Bob Packwood was run out of Washington, DC for little more than some salacious innuendo and a bit of inappropriate groping.  And the sanctimonious harridans who led the charge were the same liberal left hypocrites that still defend Clinton’s behavior as being “only about sex.”  The perjury, obstruction, and subornation are all too conveniently overlooked, aren’t they?

There may have complaints about Clinton’s behavior during his presidency but I seriously doubt any man ever complained about a bj.

Anna,

A wise observation.  Still, it is unlikely that any man risked as much or went to such ultimately pointless lengths to cover up the fact.

And, yes, there is much more about Clinton’s behavior to complain about.  That gaping hole in the ground where the Twin Towers once stood is a pretty good place to start.

Since Charlie Rangel is such a joke, it’s hard to see how anything said about him can be taken seriously!

Probably the same reason there’s a braille keypad at the drive-up ATM… or a lock on the door of the “Open 24 Hours a Day” Waffle House.

Of course, my eyes aren’t checked, they’re blue!
