Celebrities Making Asses Of Themselves

There's a lot of celebrities doing everything they can to influence this election. In recent days Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand and Christina Aguilera have proven just how insulated and naive they are when it comes to the world and politics outside of their insulated celebrity cocoon. Now Cameron Diaz has joined in on the fun, proving once again why we should never listen to celebrities when it comes to politics.

Drudge Report - On Oprah's Wednesday 'voting party' show featuring important celebrities like P. Diddy (Vote or Die!), Drew Barrymore and Christina Aguilera, svelte suffragette Cameron Diaz took to shock tactics to get the female vote out.

After a discussion with Oprah on lynching and the vote, Diaz spoke of the dire consequences for women if they sit out this election:

Ms. DIAZ: We have a voice now, and we're not using it, and women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. We could lo--if you think that rape should be legal, then don't vote. But if you think that you have a right to your body, and you have a right to say what happens to you and fight off that danger of losing that, then you should vote, and those are the...

WINFREY: It's your voice.

Ms. DIAZ: It's your voice. It's your voice, that's your right.

That's right, Ms. Diaz. The GOP is the pro-rape party. Always has been. And boy are we proud of it.

Kid Rock said it best:

I do not believe that artists or actors and people should be out there like voicing their full-blown opinions on politics because, let's face it, at the end of the day, I'm not that smart of a guy. I play rock 'n' roll, that's what I do.

Honestly though, I would have thought that Oprah would be smart enough to challenge Diaz on such a wildly offensive comment like that. Guess I was wrong. Then again, I'm not real familiar with Oprah or her politics. I just thought that one of the most successful talk show hosts of all time would try to keep a political discussion on her show out of the gutter.

I guess I am having a hard time understanding the logic of Ms. Diaz’s statements.

Ok I have to say that I agree celebrities and politics are not good bed mates even ones named Awnold. We should really keep that in mind when some would like to make it possible for Awnold to run for Pres-e-dent.
