CBS Reporter Threatens To Punch Radio Host Questioning Rahm Emanuel’s Eligibility
There have been some extremely valid legal points made about Rahm Emanuel’s eligibility to run for mayor of Chicago. William Kelly, a radio host for WIND and potential candidate for Chicago city alderman, asked Emanuel some questions about his eligibility and for his troubles was threatened with a punch in the face.
But get this: The threatener wasn’t Emanuel himself or some goon working for his campaign but rather one Jay Levine who is a reporter for the local CBS affiliate.
Obviously an ambush interview, and yes Kelly was being a bit of a tool, but it’s interesting to watch the reporters take it upon themselves to cast out someone who is asking questions they don’t approve of. Emanuel’s residency is clearly a pertinent issue to his campaign. He’s been dodging questions. You’d think that reporters interested in covering his campaign thoroughly would, you know, like to see Emanuel answer the question rather than ostracizing the guy asking it.
Notice the question asked by the reporter after the initial scuffle at about the 1:40 mark: “What have you been hearing from Chicagoans?”
That’s the question that’s more important than the one about Emanuel’s residency?
The real fun begins around the 2:15 mark.
