Candidate’s Sons Caught Trashing Iraq War Memorial

Just what any politician wants to see from his kids right before the election...

BOISE—An Idaho state senator is in the spotlight after two of his sons were arrested on charges of vandalizing the statehouse grounds.

Police charged 24-year-old Michael “Ike” Burkett and 22-year-old Thomas Burkett with malicious injury to property.

They are the sons of district 19 senator Mike Burkett.

Boise police say witnesses reported the pair bent two poles that hold flags to memorialize soldiers killed in Iraq.

Ike Burkett is also charged with resisting and obstructing officers—and was booked into the Ada County Jail.

Their father—senator Burkett—issued a written statement saying “Tom and Ike Burkett are my two sons.  They have been taught to do the right thing.  I know they have and will continue to cooperate fully with authorities. Their rendition of the facts is different than what has been reported.  I’m confident they will get to the bottom of this and that justice will be done.”

I’d give you two guesses as to which political party Mr. Burkett is from, but you’re only going to need one.

I’m surprised Bob with two O’s isn’t all over this one.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

For most people, a 22 year old and a 24 year old aren’t considered “kids” any more.  Six months in “boot camp” should straighten out these “youngster.

Let’s not forget the hoodlums in Milwaukee that were convicted of slashing the tires of the Republican vans.

They were sons of Democrat big shots.

No doubt these two boys are some of those that are, like Senator Kerry said, getting an education and making an effort to be smart...which would account for them remaining here among us in the U.S. (Lucky us.) and not being “stuck” in Iraq with all the rubes that are faithfully and valiantly defending our country.

Awesome, Rose.  That was awesome.

WHAAAAAAAT !!!!!!!! Who is this boob!

Their rendition of the facts is different than what has been reported.

Well of course. They are telling the truth, these fine “boys” would’nt lie. Republicans bent the flag poles, and framed these two fine upstanding future democratic hopefuls. Its all George Bush’s fault.... everybody knows that!
