Campbell Brown Reads Obama The Riot Act Over Flippant Answer To Reporter’s Question

The campaign’s over and now the media decides to get tough with Obama.

On Monday’s “No Bias, No Bull” program, CNN’s Campbell Brown lashed out at President-Elect Barack Obama for his flippant response to a reporter’s question: “Mr. President-Elect, reporters, we hope, are going to ask you a lot of annoying questions over the next four years. Get used to it. That is the job of the media, to hold you accountable. But this isn’t just about the media. It’s about the American people, many of whom voted for you because of what you said during the campaign, and they have a right to know which of those things you meant and which you didn’t. Apparently, as you made clear today, you didn’t mean what you said about Hillary Clinton. So, what else didn’t you mean?”

During the press conference where Obama unveiled his national security team, Peter Baker of the New York Times brought up the tough primary fight between the President-Elect and Mrs Clinton: “...[Y]ou were asked and talked about the qualifications of the—your now, your nominee for Secretary of State, and you belittled her travels around the world, equating it to having teas with foreign leaders. And your new White House counsel said that her resume was grossly exaggerated when it came to foreign policy. I’m wondering whether you can talk about the evolution of your views of her credentials since the spring.” The outgoing Illinois senator replied, “I mean, I think—this is fun for the press to try to stir up whatever quotes were generated during the course of the campaign. No, I understand, and you’re having fun.”

Obama has started taking the press for granted, and who can blame him?  The careful handling they gave him during the campaign certainly didn’t give him any indication that they’d get tough with him post election.

One can only hope that the will.  But they probably won’t, outside of a few instances like this scolding from Brown.

Well, I thought that was Campbell Brown.  I don’t watch CNN much.  I read about her, but I don’t watch her.

Bee Gees “Jive Talking” going to be played continuously for the next 4 years, if not impeached first. One thing for sure, the word ‘character’ will never be associated with Obama. Besides there are plenty of other choice words to use instead.

So when does the media demand the proof of natural born citizen? I for one thinks it does matter. Who wants a Kenyan as the US President.

Obama’s condescending, patronizing, megalomaniacal demeanor is absolutely, beyond the shadow of a doubt, utterly astounding!

So now they want to ask tough questions. How pathetic. The American people, many who wouldn’t have voted for him if the media would have done their job in the first place.

Campbell Brown may be Joe Plumbered pretty soon.....Another word that doesn’t apply to Barry besides “character” is “humble”.

Remember that he was the first to request security. Why?
He wanted to APPEAR presidential.
Now, while he has no power, he want’s to APPEAR as though he’s in control.
Ah, yes he’s the great pretender.

Sayin he’s uppity Queenie?

Right!  Uppity doesn’t even begin.  He SHOULD be suffering from “Imposter Syndrome” but, obviously is so egocentric he has deluded himself into believing his very own hype.  I am in a state of disbelief that our country could elect a joke like him - it defies all logic.  I don’t see how ANYONE with one single working brain cell could have even considered voting for Obama.

As far as realitybasedbob ... Obama got LUCKY & elected because of the ignorance of so many people - people too lazy to educate themselves about Marxist economic theory (or Economics in general much less things like Ethnology or Cultural Anthropology or Social Psychology...) or even go to the trouble of finding out what his actual record is ... like Pied Piper rats they just heard his whistle of CHANGE, which my 15 year old daughter could have gotten up and spouted.  Let’s appeal to the massive middle class and get ‘em all agitated!  Saul Alinsky would be so proud.  And, he was elected because virtually all the 25 and under voters most of whom don’t know squat about the country’s history, it’s constitution, or how the free enterprise system works, and who quite probably have questionable world outlooks and value systems (a similarity shared with Obama), were ripe to be mesmerized by such a messianic message about “taking care of” the people who can’t pay their mortgages, etc., etc., etc.... Nevermind all the chicanery and questionable associations and bad judgment and inability to make yes or no decisions in IL (but we do know he was THERE)… Obama was elected by luck - because so many people out there are ignoramuses - it’s why newspapers are written at the 5th grade reading level.  Period.

Wait till the American people find out he can’t deliver on half the stuff he said he is going to do. Wait till these morons that voted for NOBAMA find out he isn’t going to pay for their mortages or car payments.

HAhahaha...funny post. I could of sworn that the first few interviews BO gave, I heard a few “Amens” and “Hallelujahs” coming from some of those unbiased reporters. So it would come as no suprise that BO does not take these reporters seriously. But, the first time a reporter does ask a question that he does not like. His true nature comes out. Talk down to the person and belittle. Typical strongarm tactics of a bully and snob. The fun has begun.

I like this tranferrence of responsibility. They have totally blindsided the messiah. He didn’t have to answer tough questions during the campaign, even Fox (O’Reilly)was soft on him from what I saw. He’s just walked into office and not the media is tranferring the blame on to Obama. They are to blame for never doing their homework and afraid they would hurt their beloved candidate by asking him a tough question. Now they want to be jerks about it. I don’t like Obama, but I definitely am not going to point all my fingers at him on this one either.

QueenZel, I like your understanding of this empty suit.  Many people take the easy route and believe in the free lunch.  They will find out that they have been deceived and lied to.

The media and their fellow democrats elected Obama so it’s too late for them to complain. When has CNN ever been concerned with facts anyway?

Mickey on December 3, 2008 at 06:31 am

Thanks, Chief, it’s an honor to be complimented by you.
Re: the free-lunchers ... I wish someone had actually stood up and explained the real perils of what “spreading the wealth” ACTUALLY MEANS.  I truly think that most of Obama’s simplistic, self-absorbed followers have no clue, but even if they did, would be willing to jeopardize our very nation / form of government because they think Obama is going to pay their bills and babysit their children.  The people who DO know what that means COULD NOT vote for Obama, even if they needed their mortgages paid.  I wish Charlie Gibson and all his ilk had asked Obama the same questions asked of VP candidate Palin ... I imagine the fact that he’s able to keep his face from any “deer in the headlights” expressions is what helped him get elected.  Sociopaths are able to do that quite well too.  I agree that he’s an empty suit - a shell game.  Maybe he’ll condescend to the media enough times to stir them up to the point of treating a liberal the same as they do a conservative (including deliberate CharlieGibsonesqe vindictive SET UPs) or aka do their jobs and educate the public.
Is it too little, too late now?

The media has a lot of nerve criticizing Obama after spending two years and all their credibility making sure he got elected.
