Calling All National Heritage Area Opponents: There Will Be A Town Hall On The Issue In Bismarck
Tonight at 7:00pm at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Library the Northern Plains Heritage Foundation, the unelected board that is getting $10 million to develop a management plan for a federal land designation Senator Dorgan and state Senator Tracy Potter got by misleading Congress and without notifying land owners, will be holding a town hall about the land designation.
I had posted about this meeting back in September, but tonight’s the night to show up and be heard. Remember that this is the first public hearing about this 4.7 million acre land grab that includes all of the land in Oliver, Mercer, McLean, Burleigh and Morton counties. The people behind this land grab didn’t bother to present their plans to manage this land for the property owners until after they got the land designation.
Now, after their authority and funding from the federal government is in place, they want to talk to the public.
I think these people need to hear from some North Dakota land owners who aren’t happy about being opted in to this land grab without their knowledge and without even the option of opting out.
It’s time for another town hall.
My past posts about this issue are here.
