Byron Dorgan’s Wikipedia Entry Gets Vandalized

Which isn’t all that surprising.  The Wikipedia entries for politicians on both the right and the left are routinely vandalized by childish hooligans who apparently have little else to do with their time.

You can see what’s been done right now, though obviously since it’s Wikipedia it’ll likely be fixed soon.  I will admit that my inner juvenile chuckled a bit at the accusation about Byron having a third nipple.

This wouldn’t even be post worthy, except that in reviewing the edits made to Byron’s page I found a couple of interesting things.

First, check out the sheer number of edits coming from IP addresses owned by North Dakota’s state government.  Almost all of them are negative too (some childish and juvenile, others not).  I guess there’s a lot of people working for the state who really don’t like Byron.

Second, check out this edit made from an IP address owned by the Senate.  Someone removed reference to Dorgan’s involvement with Jack Abramoff and a reference to the controversy surrounding Dorgan’s refusal to step down from the chairmanship of the committee investigating the Abramoff controversy.

Wanna bet someone in Dorgan’s office was making some convenient editing of Dorgan’s record?

Why isn’t the story all about why state government officials are using up time to attack people? Don’t they have better things to do? North Dakota taxpayers should be appalled. Dorgan is a strongly popular senator and for good reason.
