Byron Dorgan’s Book

For all you North Dakotans out there, Byron Dorgan's new book - Take This Job And Ship It: How Corporate Greed and Brain-Dead Politics Are Selling Out America - got a big, wet, sloppy tongue-kiss of a review over at Daily Kos today.

Go ahead and read it if you want, but I can pretty much sum it up for you here:

Corporations are so evil. And so greedy. And Byron Dorgan is so cool for pointing that out, even if he is from a stinky red state.

Anyone else wondering why one of the Senators of one of the most conservative states in the union is fast becoming a favorite among far-left wing whack-jobs like those who frequent websites like Daily Kos? Could it be that Byron Dorgan doesn't at all represent the political ideology of North Dakotans and only holds onto his office by getting 92.1% of his campaign contributions from out of state (which allows him to bury challengers who depend on in-state donations with media ads) and bringing home reams of federal pork money?

I'd say that's likely. I mean, Dorgan appeared in Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 for crying out loud, and we mainstream North Dakotans are supposed to believe that our junior Senator represents our right-leaning interests? Give me a break.

I wish they'd sent me a review copy of this book. I mean, why not? I got an advance review copy of former liberal Democrat Senator Gary Hart's forthcoming book, why not give me an advance copy of a book written by my own Senator?

Guess they probably wouldn't like what I have to say about it.

Please!!!  Somebody tell me that Dorgan didn’t really come out with a book about ”Brain-Dead Politics.”

That’s like John Kerry doing a book called ”Taking A Stand: Principles and Leadership.”

Dorgan is just positioning himself as a “Lou Dobbs Democrat.”

He think’s he’s a VP candidate as well.

Never trust a politician with a comb-over.  Can using that much hair spray be good for the enviroment?

The basic premise of Dorgan’s politics and this book are flawed.  We’re long down the road of globalization.  Meanwhile unemployment is about as low as it gets.  Per-capita income is at a record high.

Reality, meet Mr. Dorgan.

Who’s going to write it?  The last time around they called in CFR, but it really was incumbent protection.

It’s so easy for liberals to blame everything on evil corporations because so many of their believers are stupid enough to overlook the fact that corporations are owned by people. The Left dehumanizes corporations so they can have something, rather than a whole bunch of someones to blame for their own personal failures. When the class-war-inciting left attacks corporations they are attacking real people and in most cases people who invested in stocks because they had to to make up for what their side has stolen from Social Security over the years. I bet even Dorgan has a portfolio and takes corporate donations in one form or another. I’d also bet that most of his donors own stock.

Yes, realityboob, Dorgan’s out-of-state money and all that pork barrel money he brings home is very effective at covering up the fact that he’s a far-left, true-blue liberal representing the interests of a crimson red state.

Once again Rob.If N. Dacota is so red, a) try to recall him, b)run against him and or c) stop griping.

ellinas: The “griping” is part of mobilizing against him, isn’t it?  Don’t we start with complaining and pointing out the faults and errors as a call to action?

Robert 108 I agree with what you are saying.
But I don’t believe for a minute that Rob can either recall him or unseat him.

Then maybe the crimson red state of N. Dakotah is inhabited by citizens that are or reduced intelligence, which I doubt because I see they vote for whats good for them.

I don’t believe that he can recall him either since there’s no provision for that.

Rob’s good, but he’s going to need help to unseat him.

He’s in office until 2010.  Who knows if he’s going to run again?

It is abundantly clear that North Dakotans are more than satisfied with their all democratic congressional delegation. The republicans vote for them as well.  They have not been able to field a decent slate of candidates against them for a number of elections.  They have thrown the family values crap at them only to fail.  Even Gov. Hoeven, half a dem himself, doesn’t want to run against them.

I have read the comments posted here and find them to be empty of actual facts - there is a building in the Caribbean that houses the addresses of thousands of companies that get tax breaks for moving out of the country. Where do you think the money comes from to make up these tax losses? US. Byron Dorgan is a here.

you guys need to realize the dorgan is less partisan than most senators and that is why n dakotans keep reelecting him. he isn’t just trying to make a point, he actually believes in what he is saying. he crticizes both democrats and republicans.
DOWN WITH WITH CORPORATIONS.
