Byron Dorgan On Air America

Apparently one of my Senators, Byron Dorgan (D-ND), is going to be on Air America tomorrow with Al Franken.

Frankly, that make me a little unhappy. North Dakota isn't like the rest of the country. Our political climate isn't as shriekingly partisan as the rest of the country's and our politicians certainly don't stoop to the depths the likes of Al Franken are capable of.

I would just as soon not see Dorgan associate our state or his distinguished position in the Senate with a crass and unbalanced smear merchant like Franken. If you're a North Dakotan and feel the same way you might want to let Senator Dorgan know.

Thanks for bringing this up, Rob. I’ve sent a message to Sen. Dorgan. I don’t expect much response, and seriously doubt he’ll change his mind, but I did what I could. I’ll also be blogging about this.

Yet you had no problem with John Hoeven spending time with Karl Rove. Your hypocrisy astounds even me.

No, I took your criticism and responded in kind.  I pointed out why I think the two situations are different, you disagree.  There’s not much more to discuss.

I brought up the baby thing because, frankly, anyone who believes that infanticide is a reasonable solution to society’s problems probably has a couple of screws loose.  You’re upset because I told you that infanticide is wrong and monstrous and then implied that you might not understand this until you move out of mommy and daddy’s basement.

Really, if I were a “hypocrite of the worst sort” who “refuses to take criticism” I wouldn’t let you spew your stupidity all over my blog now, would I?

Why don’t you advocate for some more baby-killing, ghoul.

Good God, you’re monomaniacal! Is this really the best defense you can muster, Rob? Criticize me for my views on something that has absolultely no relation whatsoever to the issue at hand?

Rove and Franken are partisan smear merchants; they’ve both done really despicable things in their careers (I’d say Rove is worse, though that’s simply because he has more power and control right now). When a Democratic North Dakota politician meets with Franken, you criticize him. When a Republican North Dakota meets with Rove, you don’t.

You are a hypocrite, Rob. You are a hypocrite of the worst sort: one who refuses to take criticism.

If you believe that attacking a heckler is worse than intentionally and falsely accusing a presidential candidate of being the illegitimate father of a black baby, I am afraid it is YOU who has a couple of screws loose.

When was the last time you heard about Karl Rove attacking hecklers?  Or joking about executing people?  Or doing skits where he bashes people he disagrees with over the head with stools?

Why don’t you advocate for some more baby-killing, ghoul.

Well, Davey, since this if the first time I’ve heard of Karl Rove doing any such thing you may want to enlighten me.

Though I would point out that yes, physical violence does trump lying about bastard children.  As does advocating for infanticide.

You’ve really got to get your priorities straight, kiddo.

this isn’t the first time he’s been on.  I looked for a transcript one time but apparently it wasn’t available.

Dorgan fits right in in that crowd.  After all Dorgan was one of the main sources for Michael Moore’s conspiricy theories in his moonbat movie.

We in North Dakota just don’t hear about this as until we all started blogging on this stuff.  Dorgan doesn’t want it known, the papers don’t print it.

Then you are absolutely, 100% insane.

I wonder if Rob would complain about Hoeven being interviewed by Sean Hannity…

At least we don’t have to worry about Senator Conrad or Dorgan taking phone calls from the voters of North Dakota on a North Dakota radio station.

No, Davey, what’s insane is advocating for the extermination of inconvenient newborns as a way to improve society.

Why, has Sean Hannity started calling for the deaths of people he disagrees with?  Started attacking hecklers?

Yeah, didn’t think so.

Then George W. Bush is the worst president in history because he got a DUI when he was 30. I love using Bizarro-world logic!

Proof that Rove was involved in this smear?  In the absence of such, this statement amounts to libel.

I said that physically beating somebody is much worse than just lying about that person.  How is this bizzare logic?

And, for the record, you still haven’t provided anything to back up your claim that Rove lied about anybody’s child.

Dorgan is just another left wing political hack.  He’s been a thorn on ND ever since he showed up on the political radar years ago.  When I still lived there he made me sick.  He still gags me.  Show me a naive liberal from ND and I’ll show you a Dorgan supporter.  A few years ago I had the unfortunate experience of having to listen to that windbag talk himself up when NDSU had foolishly invited him to be the commencement speaker at a December graduation ceremony.  How his guy has stayed in office all of these years just amazes me.  Even my relatives that work in the capital can’t stand him.  He actually fits right in with the phonies behind Franken and the fools.  It’s just too bad ND has to be associated with his persona.  Of course ND voters are the ones responsible for keeping him in office all of these years.  Send him packing like his SD buddy Daschle.
