Byron Dorgan Is A Hypocrite On Bi-Partisanship

Immediately after Obama’s election day victory Senator Byron Dorgan was busy saying that Obama should “reach out” to Republicans and end all the nasty “partisanship” in Washington DC.

“I think it’s important to reach out” in a spirit of bipartisanship, Dorgan said…

“We’ve had far too much partisanship in Washington,” Dorgan said.

Well apparently Dorgan has a different definition of “bipartisanship” than the rest of us, because today on Fox News Sunday he basically came out in favor of throwing Senator Joe Lieberman under the bus for daring to side with Republicans on a couple of issues.  He says that Lieberman’s behavior has been “unacceptable.”

It’s worth noting that The One has already overruled hacks like Senator Helmethead, which is pretty much the only good and principled thing Obama has done since coming to office.

The Democrats can’t very well say they want bi-partisanship and then throw a member of their caucus under the bus for working with Republicans.  It’s not like Lieberman has become a conservative.  He remains a reliably liberal vote on just about every issue except those relating to national security (which is also why he endorsed McCain over Obama).  If Democrats kick him out for that all their blather about ending partisanship and working with the other side just illustrates how deeply their hypocrisy goes.

That front picture zooms in a bit too closely on Dorgan’s combover. It’s getting more ridiculous by the day. Maybe if he would stop soaking it in brown hair dye.

“I think it’s important to reach out” in a spirit of bipartisanship, Dorgan said…

Reaching out to a Liberal gives you one less hand to protect yourself when having your pocket picked, or getting stabbed in the back.

Well golly…I’m glad to know that whole bi-partisanship thing is a door that only swings one way.

Byron Dorgan should be ashamed of himself.

Kind of interesting how the parties embrace bi-partisanship.

The Republican version of Bi-Partisanship, John McCain becomes the party’s nominee for president.

The Democrats version of Bi-Partisanship, Joe Lieberman, is ostracized by the party, and soon to be stripped of chairmanships given to butter him up and keep him in the fold.

Talk about Hypocrites.

Bi-partisanship in the Democrat’s minds, ‘what little they have of one’, is a “My way or the Highway” kind of thing, as the party moves farther and farther left.

My Idea of Bi-partisanship is John McCain, Zell Miller and Joe Biden.

Guys who aren’t afraid to buck the system.  I don’t agree with them all the time, but am able to appreciate that they look at what is right for the country, first.

They may not always get it right, ‘Ala McCain Feingold’, but at least they are trying, and trying to work together.

Gman.
Yeah. I guess it’s OK to try working together, if there’s common ground. But, rarely is there, ideologically .

Like, there was common ground with the first bailout bill. But people like Pelosi turned it into a pissing match, it got defeated. And, then the one they passed was infinitely worse.
Real nice job of Bipartisanship.

There is no common ground for conservatives on “global warming”, and “Immigration” and such. Lib’s are wrong. Dead wrong.
Defeat is the only way.
Usually is. These people are Nuts. All of them.

Jerry,

On those issues, I agree.  Also on Life.
