Bush On Obama: What Do I Know, I’m Just The President

An interesting exchange between Chris Wallace and President Bush:

WALLACE: Do you think there’s a rush to judgment about Barack Obama. Do you think voters know enough about him?

BUSH: I certainly don’t know what he believes in. The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he’s going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad. I think I commented that in a press conference when I was asked about that.

WALLACE: I hope not. But so you don’t think that we know enough about him or what he stands…

BUSH: It doesn’t seem like it to me, but this campaign is plenty of time for candidates to get defined. He is yet his party’s nominee.

WALLACE: So why do you think he’s gotten this far if people don’t know what he stands for?

BUSH: You’re the pundit. I’m just a simple president.

I actually think Obama has gotten this far because he’s a good-looking, likable guy while his opponents are a) a corrupt Clinton and b) the second coming of Joseph Stalin.

I agree with you , Rob. Good assessment!

Zsa Zsa: Rob is only partially right in my opinion, not meaning to make light of his good comments. As you know I have long seen in Obama a minority Messiah, a reincarnation of JFK, FDR, MLK in the black skin of Obama, his appeal is based on a movie star image and a mystique that is otherwordly. I believe he will get the nomination and McCain will be slaughtered in this election cycle.

Neiman, I really wish I could say you were wrong. BUT I can’t. I think while the tsunami of Democrats flock to the polls there will most likely be a tsunami of Republicans staying home. I truly hope I am wrong.

I agree Rob.  I have talked to a bunch of fellow college students at NDSU who support him and they can’t tell me more than one thing he stands for other than “change.”  And almost all of them can’t even describe one aspect of that change.  You hit it sqaure on the head.

a reincarnation of JFK

Maybe if JFK had said “Ask what your country can do for you…..” rather than the other way around. And maybe if Barry understood how tax cuts worked like JFK did.

Run for the hills the majority of Americans will have spoken

Right, let’s get some more of those talking-points that America is really liberal, HA!

And Obama good-looking, wow. I wonder if the cartoonists will give him the same chimp ears and face that they do Bush.  Oh forgot, PC rules don’t allow that (Obama’s black you know). Maybe Barry can avoid the whole dilemma and just have those babies pinned back.
