Brazil To Start Pro-Ethanol Diplomacy Effort

After all, Brazilian ethanol made of sugarcane is a better alternative to ethanol made from staple crops such as corn.

The problem though, at least for Americans, is that imported ethanol carries a massive $0.54/gallon tariff.  Which is baffling given how supposedly dedicated to alternative fuels most of our political leadership claims to be.

I’m not at all convinced that ethanol is the solution to our energy woes, but at the very least ethanol - up to and including ethanol produced in foreign countries - should be allowed to compete in our energy market.

Our Congress pork package, $300 Billion farm bill is crazy!  Farmers earning up to $750,000 adjusted gross* Individuals with off farm income up to $500,000.* Require Gov’t to Buy any Surplus Domestic sugar For Use In Ethanol production.
I am all for the Farmer.  BUT the tax payers are getting so RIPPED OFF!!!!! Thanks Congress! You idiots!
