Boehner: “Read My Lips, We’re Going To Cut Spending”

I understand that Rep. Boehner wants to make it clear to the cranky, impatient American electorate that Republicans are serious about cutting spending but should he really be using the notorious verbiage of George H.W. Bush’s broken promise about tax hikes?
The real news here is that Republicans aren’t interested in any sort of a short-term resolution to continue spending at current levels, as was passed in place of an omnibus spending bill during the lame duck session of the Democrat majority, and good on them.
No more delays. No more excuses. Everyone in Washington talks about making the hard choices. Well make them already.
