THis is the guy that was taking advantage of the dying Ashcroft to malign our constitution? THe one depicted with the large, bambie eyes?

Actually, Comey said they were arguing about a secret program, and declined to identify which one. The NYT yesterday disclosed that it had to do with data mining, not the TSP. AG stated that there was no institutional debate on the TSP, and that the TSP was not what they were discussing; that it was “another classified program”. AG did not say so, but the TSP he was referring to was the one that was in force at the time, the one overseen by FISA, not the 2001=2004 version that was discontinued at Comey and the FBI’s objections along technical lines.

The current TSP does have unanimous institutional approval within the executive branch, and is sufficiently declassified that Comey could have taken AG off the hook by being more candid. Interestingly, he was congratulated by the dems for being candid, while AG was attacked as a liar. Congress is now engaged in trying to repair some of the damage the dems and Spector did to the country by directly addressing the 1978 framework that caused this mess; that is, the inability to quickly monitor instant global communications from anywhere in the world. Can we say ‘sleeper cell’? This at the direct, emergency appeal of the president who summoned the leadership from both parties to the White House day before yesterday for a patriotic pep talk. Not to mention, Spector was finally read in; since then, he hasn’t appeared on ‘Face the Nation’ to demand the political death of AG. Or anywhere else.

AG was, in fact, viciously and ruthlessly attacked by a room full of Senators (including Rino Spector) who had not been read in to either program at the time, had no idea that AG was telling the truth, and made unsubstantiated allegations that turn out to be completely false, doing enormous harm to the TSP, the Justice Department, and the country.

So, yes, the doe-eyed figure is the same AG you’re speaking of. I don’t actually care for AG for other reasons (primarily his immigration stand, and keeping Johnny Sutton while firing others), but this was a deliberate slaughter from day one. It was not a hearing.

Sparkie, I just realized you might have meant to be facetious. If so, my apologies for my lack of a sense of humor.

Lawyers killing lawyers for being lawyers? That takes all the fun out of it. I’d rather citizens be killing lawyers. Then we could move on to Wahabis. Then to socialists. Then to communists. Hell, in 6 months we could excise the 2 massive cancers killing humanity, lawyers and socialists, and that boil on our ass called communism. Take another 6 to behead all the Warriors Of Satan who call themselves Muslims, then Muslims can move on with their lives like the rest of us.
