Bismarck Tribune Editorial Kinda Sorta Chastises Higher Ed Board For Budget Requests

I could be wrong, but I think the Bismarck Tribune kinda sorta scolded the North Dakota Higher Education Board for requesting an additional $20 million in spending on top of the 39% increase in spending Governor Hoeven budgeted for in his budget-busting budget.

Which makes me wonder if the Fargo Forum will now accuse the Bismarck Tribune of being “downright goofy” as the Forum did to a fiscally conservative group in the state that also questioned the Higher Education Board’s request.

Frankly, I wish the Tribune were a little less circumspect in its condemnation of the Higher Ed. board.  Requesting an additional $20 million in spending on top of an already budgeted-for 39% spending increase in a state that’s already #2 in the nation in per-capita higher education funding - where people are paying 20% above some national tuition averages - isn’t just troubling.

It’s downright outrageous.
