Bismarck Tribune Dedicates A Grand Total Of Three Sentences To Coming Tea Party

The Rally on the Mall tea party (more information here) got some coverage in the Bismarck Tribune today. A whopping three sentences, which read suspiciously as though they were crafted after the author listened to our radio ad.

Another tea party protest is slated from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday on the state Capitol mall, organizers said.
There will be music, food and speakers, including Public Service Commissioner Kevin Cramer, conservative radio host Scott Hennen and local conservative blogger Rob Port.
Conservative groups organized similar protests in April to denounce federal spending and the country’s deficit.

I shouldn’t complain. At least we’re getting a little attention, unlike tax day when the state’s largest series of coordinated protest events was barely mentioned by any traditional media outlet in the state. By contrast, though, this same reporter wrote about 700 words in the same issue of the paper about bottle rockets.
I guess we fiscal conservatives know where we rank. But hey, it’s a tough call. Cover a local connotation of the nation’s largest, newest and perhaps most pervasive political movements or firecrackers on a stick…

that’s the great things about tea parties. we don’t want headliners. we don’t need hollywood types to help pass our agenda. hollywood types that have never lived a day in the life of a real person don’t have a clue what life outside millionaire alley is like. these are the real, everyday, concerned taxpayers that show up. That’s why you won’t see Dino there. He’s not real.

See you there Gene! I’ll be selling t-shirts.

Gene, the letters have been written. We’ve been on several other shows besides Scott’s (and been turned down by others). We’ve got a radio ad playing on station’s across the state.

So we’re getting it out there. We don’t need the Tribune. I just have to chuckle about how these guys pretend like it’s inconsequential.

Of course, if a dozen people got together to support Obama or something they’d be all over it.

the vigil for the young drug using criminal that got killed got a lot of pr here in fargo. front page…. more than once. they only care because hes not white. if a poor white kid did this people would not care nearly as much.

What is headline-making about another set of tea parties with no big names headlining.

I also thought that was completely excessive. The guy was a gang bangin drugged up burglar. What is the “vigil” for anyway? Never understood that.

and oddly enough, that should say EVEN MORE about how devoted these people are. i dont look to people to lead me. i lead myself and my family in the direction i want to go.

i watched a ‘save tibet’ rally in dc on tv one time. it was great. beastie boys, rem, etc. they asked a fan what this was all about… they said it was a free concert to save tibet. when asked what was going on there, they had no clue. i bet few of them did. they were there to see the acts for free.

Rob, I once got some attention for a issue by writing a letter to every newspaper local and otherwise in the state of ND. About a third were printed.

In addition, there are a number of bloggers in ND. They could go viral on this if they were to get a comment in the latest post. There are a few who would get on board.

And, there’s radio. Not just Scott.

Some talkers would talk it up.

People do listen to their local stations.

How many readers of SAB LIVE in small town ND and could at least poke at the ND populace?

    Bismarck Tribune is useless.

SO, Go for it. I’ll be there. I’m bring a carload. But, others can help too. Enlist in the army, it’s time to fight.

We wouldn’t expect you to understand. Now toddle off. I’m sure MSNBC is running an episode of Keith Olbermann.
