Bill Kristol: If McCain Loses, Palin Could Still Have Presidential Aspirations

And I don’t disagree.

KRISTOL: She has a future, she may not run in four years if McCain loses. Franklin Roosevelt, as a 38 year old, lost the vice presidential race. He became governor of New York and then was elected twelve years from [then]. … She reminds me a lot of FDR. I just said that so that can go — so the left wing blogs can go crazy.

If McCain loses (and even if he wins, frankly) the GOP is going to need new leadership.  The powers-that-be within the GOP have brought the party from majorities in both houses of Congress and control of the White House to an election season where Republican minorities in Congress will probably get even more minor, and the GOP Presidential candidate has been dominated by a limp noodle like Obama.

So we need a change, and we need people like Sarah Palin (and people like Gov. Bobby Jindal) who can bring the party back to the right.
