Iran has been working on its nuke bomb since 1988, or perhaps before that. With the help of North Korea, A. Q. Kahn of Pakistan, France, Germany, USSR/ Russia and smuggled stuff from the U.S.  The U.N. has been no help—the see nothing do nothing IAEA and El Baradei has been a joke.  Iran sees the world as it is: a wimpy do-nothing bunch of talkers.

The report on which Biden’s alleged statements are based is completely unsourced.  Biden’s team has stated emphatically that he did not make these comments.  Joe Biden has an incredibly strong pro-Israel, anti-Iran-with-nukes record.  Those of you on the right are here guilty of the same thing of which they accuse the so-called liberal media and those on the left, namely, running with an unsubtantiated story and from that flawed foundation forming opinions of the individual(s) involved in the story, which, of neccesity, are themsleves flawed.  The quest for truth should be more important than partisan posturing.  In reading these posts, I see that is not the case here.

You know, if Biden really did say this, it would make me far more likely to vote the Democratic ticket.  Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that Israel has their own nuclear weapons underneath the supposedly peaceful reactor at Dimona and is quite capable of defending itself.  Unlike Iran, they refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, making them far more of a danger than their neighbors.  I, for one, am sick and tired of the US playing the world’s policeman in direct contravention of our constitution and the warnings of our founders.  Add in the numerous times that the state of Israel has attacked this nation (the Lavon Affair, USS Liberty, 9/11) and it makes a thinking individual ask: “Who are the terrorists again?”

What you’re offering is a pretty lame excuse for not answering a simple question.  I’m not “running with” anything as I have asked what I consider to be an essential foreign policy question several times in the past with no cogent response from any of our resident lefties.

When Joe Biden was selected to be Obama’s running mate, the press was gushing with laudatory stories about Biden’s foreign policy experience shoring up Obama’s paucity of experience.  I just think it’d be nice if someone could document that Biden is any more accomplished than the man who selected him.

Finally, if as you suggest, the Israelis are interfering with our domestic electoral process, it could certainly be considered payback at a crucial point in time for Bill Clinton’s craven interference in Israel’s elections several years back when he all but taped commercials opposing Mr. Netanyahu’s candidacy.  That the blowback comes back on the Democrats is simply cosmic justice.

Besides, if Mr. Obama is put off by the Israelis actions, perhaps he could demonstrate his vaunted negotiating skills by getting them to stop picking on him, his running mate, and his party.  It would certainly be good practice for Obama, don’t you think?
