Biden To Israel: Obama Will Let Iran Go Nuclear
Nothing says “hope for America” like letting your sworn enemy get nuclear weapons, and telling one of your most trust allies in the middle east that they’re on their own.
Jimmy Carter redux.
Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.
In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed “opening a additional military and diplomatic front.”
Biden, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has long been considered strongly pro-Israel. His nomination as Barack Obama’s running mate had been expected to shore up the Democrats’ strength with U.S. Jewish voters.
Remember that Biden was the guy who wanted to send a $200,000,000 blank check to Iran right after 9/11 as a good will gesture. And Obama is the guy who, at least before he flip-flopped on the issue, promised unilateral talks with Iran with no preconditions.
So learning that Obama/Biden would let Iran go nuclear, and basically tell Israel that they’re on their own in dealing with it, isn’t all that surprising.
