Betty Casey Wins Limbaugh Smear Letter Auction

Betty B. Casey is the winner of the Limbaugh Smear Letter auction on eBay, which ended with a $2.1 million winning bid.

Betty B. Casey is a noted philanthropist and supporter of the arts, particularly the Washington Opera, and donated prime real estate to the Salvation Army when objections to a planned mayoral mansion for D.C. killed the plan. She has also donated $6,900 to Barack Obama's campaign, as well as to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Thank you Betty for donating to this worthy cause, and poking these silly politicians in the eye.

Rush has been talking about this. He played back a speech by Harry Reid where Reid clearly tries to take some of the credit for this. Rush has pointed out how inappropriate since this was a smear by Reid that he hasn't apologized for it.

Rush is also matching the donation so this will raise 4.2 million dollars. Rush has challenged these politicians to also match the donation but it's unlikely they will even though Harry Reid could come up with that kind of money in a shady land deal any time he wanted too.

Of course Harry Reid and the other Senate Democrats aren’t about to make any sort of substantive contribution.  They only do that when its other taxpayers’ hard-earned money that they’re giving away.

This woman is amazing—she has done so much for the City of Washington, DC—I just finished a tree planting in my neighborhood last week that is re-greening DC thanks to her work as a part of the Casey Trees.  For not knowing much about Betty Casey two weeks ago I am impressed with the work of this great American!

Who is be kidded here.....?  She may be a great support of Washington DC, but she supports the Senate and the Democrats.  I wonder who is backing to buy the letter.  You gotta know this was not her idea....and the Reid certainly couldn’t buy it back under his own name.

I heard some of this audio this afternoon. It was sickening to hear Dingy Harry trying desperately to spin this and take credit for a good thing, as if he’d intended it to raise money for charity! The word the host kept using was ”weaselly”.
Good choice of words!

If you can stomach three to four minutes of this hypocritical, lying sack of Senator, you can go here for the video clip/

I was going to send an email to him telling that nobody bought his attempt to save face on c-span today. Unfortunately the way the senate email system is set up it wouldn’t be read since I’m not one of his constituents. Nice, they make decisions that affect all of us but are only willing to take notice of those who directly impact their career longevity. Color me surprised.

FEH.. It just hit me that I have a cousin that lives near Elko, maybe I can still get my message to Harry via proxy. Worth a try.

LIMBAUGH: I—it’s not possible, intellectually, to follow these people.

CALLER 2: No, it’s not, and what’s really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they’re willing to sacrifice for their country.

LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --

CALLER 2: A lot of them—the new kids, yeah.

LIMBAUGH: Well, you --

As Media Matters has also documented, on the August 2, 2005, program, Limbaugh repeatedly referred to Iraq war veteran and then-Democratic congressional candidate Paul Hackett as “another liberal Democrat trying to hide behind a military uniform” and accused him of going to Iraq “to pad the resumé.” On the day of Limbaugh’s comments, Hackett narrowly lost a special election to Republican Jean Schmidt for Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District seat.

As a phony civilian hoping to be a phony soldier, I tried to enlist in the military after I graduated high school in 2003. In 2002 I had a Nissen fundoplication operation to repair a hiatal hernia caused by severe acid reflux, preventing esophageal cancer later in life. I was immediately flagged on my attempt to enlist because of this surgery, as there was a chance that a physically stressful job such as Army infantry would complicate it. I had to be cleared by the surgeon general before entering the service. As the war kept on, so did I. I waited for a little over a year to get my results back: I would finally be able to join despite the surgery I had two years prior. As Rush found after dropping out of his first year of college at Southeast Missouri State University in 1969-1970, he found himself on draft status. Nothing that a claim of an old football injury or a boil on the ass can take care of, though! The medical deferment he was referring to was a pilonidal cyst, which apparently is a clump of severely ingrown hairs. That barred him from enlistment, and I’m sure he was ecstatic. After all, there was a war on. Here’s a first hand account of the surgery that was done to correct it. She claims that in eight weeks, it was perfectly healed. Rush is willing to sacrifice the lives of Americans in Iraq but not his own ass (literally) in a simple surgery. I waited a year to get in, and he didn’t try. Boy, do I really give an effort at being a phony soldier!

Winston Smith, how aptly you name yourself - you regurgitate Media Matters little talking point up there without even bothering to read the whole transcript. Rush Limbaugh was talking about Jesse Macbeth, who actually is a phony soldier and was arrested for his fakery.

What in the hell does Rush Limbaugh’s own medical history have to do with any of this? Answer: absolutely nothing.

I thought you hardcore leftists were all about shirking military service whenever possible. That should make him a hero to you, I would think. I noticed that you posted someone else’s history of trying to enter the military and not your own.

Why don’t you join up, tough guy.

heh, I contacted a cousin that lives in Nevada, here’s the guts of his reply.

I didn’t vote for the twit!  However the politics in Nevada are such that the Dems in Vegas control the state.  He’s truly a politician, eh - can spin a story!

I won’t comment upon nationalities or other organizations Vegas dems belong to, you decide for yourself.

BTW, did this blog steal the Protein Wisdom TW generator? I’m just asking because mine was quite79 and yes it is. And it’s freaking me out, stop it.
