Bat Girl Is A Lesbian

For all you comic book fans out there.
I imagine some people will be inclined to be outraged about this. I could care less. If you’re at all familiar with the content of comic books these days you’ll know that a lesbian character is actually pretty tame. The situation sort of reminds me of all those parents who bought their kids that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas game – the point of which is to committ grand larceny while running away from/killing cops – and then got upset when there was a secret code in the game that let you have sex with a hooker.
As though sex were somehow worse than shooting a cop in the face.
I just wish the folks at DC Comics who came up with the idea would quit talking about diversity. This move wasn’t about diversity at all. This move was about turning on a bunch of comic book dweebs with hard-body female character in tight clothes who will likely be spending a lot of time kissing her girlfriends.
I mean, c’mon. Let’s at least be honest about this.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

“And I don’t understand why having lower taxes is an indicator of freedom.”

Freedom to spend your own money, the way you want to spend it. That’s called economic freedom. You can do more things when you have more money to spend. That’s personal freedom. You can support the religion of your choice with your money, if you choose, which is religious freedom. You can support the political causes you want to with that money you have because of lower taxes, which is political freedom. Other than that, nothing.

Diane, Many have worn the uniform of the United States Marine Corps; most honorably and with character, pride and distinction. There are, however, those whose levels of fear, lack of integrity, lack of experience, and just plain ignorance, will fire those shots at the innocent; My Lai resonnates in my memory. As a loyal Marine (1960-1978), I understand the difference between standing tall in the face of an enemy, and cowaring at the fear that abounds your situation. All too often in these circumstances, nerves, emotions and ignorance overcomes these young men, and the worst within them emerges, and it is only AFTER the fact they realize the great harm they have inflicted. They will be punished and rightly so, not only for murder, but for dishonoring their uniform and the nation they served. The Iraq war is in itself one of the poorest possible judgment, and it will remain with us throughout this century. History will record this decade as one of America’s worst.

  • diane

Yes, you are McCrackpot; extremely so.

But Marine slaughter. Boring is hardly the word. Atrocious, horrific, sickening..but not boring.

  • realitybasedbob

Comic books, huh? Hard hitting stuff there…

I guess the FEC ruling that Frist violated election laws or the Delay investigation has taken a few new turns or that the House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jerry Lewis has had his records subpoenaed isn’t news. I guess it’s not news that the Iraqi Prime Minister has accused our military of “violence against civilians” which he said has become a “daily phenomenon” by many troops in the American-led coalition who “do not respect the Iraqi people.” What did you think of the Quinnipiac Poll, or the great BO getting a WWII atrocity exactly wrong…for the second time? (Must be all the falafel sex) Didja see Santorum’s numbers? The Dixie Chicks at #1 is an interesting story. Not to mention the new BBC video.

  • diane

Oh, McCrackpot, I wasn’t aware that this was YOUR fareeeeeegin blog? Or do you just fight rob’s battles as an everyday thing? One of ‘dem Semper Fi manly man kind of things?

You know..manly men. The kind that murder babies for home, hearth and country, to keep us all free?

    WTH!! ISNT THIS ABOUT BATGIRL??
WHY ARE PPL TALKING BOUT WAR SHIT????

  • diane

    I’m glad it double posted.

Americans should be FURIOUS about what is going on.

Bush’s war is turning American kids into crazy, cold-blood killers.

And they’re coming home to YOUR neighborhood soon……..angry as you know what

  • diane

I abhor killing. You can blame Daddy and Clinton as well, but Sonny Boy was the one who ‘shocked and awed’ ‘em right in downtown Baghdad, men, women and babies…for no reason.

Daddy stopped and wouldn’t go in and he knows Sonny shouldn’t have either. Sonny’s in an bloody mess and Iraqis have paid the price for Sonny’s moron factor and that of his followers.

You here at the blog are the best proof of the kind of low-lifes that Iraqis face every day; no conscience, no morals, just pseudo and faux everything.

You’re disgusting. Trying to justify an immoral war than even a decent ex Marine like Roman knows is a bloody wrong we’ll pay for for the rest of our life as a country.

  • diane

Or the new Marine murder story about the innocent Iraqi man dragged out of his home and slaughtered like a pig in the streets.

How ’bout dem Marines, eh? Makin’ us proud, dey are.

  • Carrick

Roman , I can grok that. Thanks for the perspective.

I’ve not served, but I have been in life-threatening situations before and have seen how other people react.

When people get scared, one fear response is anger, which can easily be misdirected to “noncombatants”.

    Boring.

  • Chad

Actually, President Bush Senior stopped when he did because our “allies” of several stripes told us they would not support any moves further north. This included the Saudi troops, and the French and German Governments. Without anyone to watch our flanks, we could have actually been cut off from our supplies, and we all know how that ends for a military venture (see Stalingrad). The problem is not where or why we are at war, the problem is that some have come to see any violence as intolerable, this is patently false, as any study of human history will show. Those that say force never solved anything need to check Heinlein for his thoughts on the matter. I’m not advocating shooting innocents. As a matter of fact, I think just the opposite. However, lawless barbarians MUST be brought to heel, otherwise there can be no civilization based on reason, logic, and the greater good. Yes, mistakes have been made, and tragedy has occurred, but far fewer than any other military venture in history.

  • Chad

You know, it’s really kind of sad. I know a lot of people that have been to Iraq. Work with them even, and now, according to Diane, I have to be afraid of them. It’s funny, most of them don’t act any more violent than they did before. I guess they must be killing kids secretly. It’s funny how the stats for missing children in our area aren’t going up. Maybe they all leave town to kill children? Oh, I guess it’s not Army personnell you have to be afraid of, just Marines. Oh me, oh my, they’re all a bunch of killers! I’m sorry, but you just can’t judge what happened until the facts are in. This will be investigated, and if it’s true, they will be tried. That’s more than you can ask the other side to do. They enjoy killing kids, it’s their job. These Marines will be held accountable, and don’t forget it. It may take awhile, but it should, to get all the facts. Unlike terrorists, we don’t just kill you because you are wearing shorts.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/entry/homosexuality_is_wrong_-_a_compendium move_zig

Shameful, the way they are going after kids in the guise of comic books. Now you’re going to have to read comic books before you buy them for your kids.

Sheez, even those aren’t safe now.

Jay Tea beat me to the Wikepedia link. It wasn’t following that comic so I don’t know either.

  • Zsa Zsa

    How was she killed?

  • http://highdesertwanderer.com/ High Desert Wanderer

The answer is here. A long way down the page.

“Batman’s mysterious foe, Ras Al Ghul, tipped off the League of Assassins that Kathy was a threat to their organization.”

She fought and died as Kathy Kane, clutching her Batwoman costume at the end. Batman was present but unconscious at the time of her death.

  • LoadTheMule

One reason my comments are extreme on this blog is that when people are crazy as loons and shouting at the top of their lungs, you don’t get their attention by whispering.

What are the other reasons, pray tell? ‘Cause that one just doesn’t wash. Using other people being idiots as your reason for being idiotic makes no sense to me, but then–hey–I think rationale, reasonable, fact-based opinions are always appropriate. Go figure.

I came here for a discussion of a “hard-body female character in tight clothes who will likely be spending a lot of time kissing her girlfriends.” It’s about time the comments got back on track.

Actually I was indifferent on the idea. Whether this new Batwoman turns out to be a good comic book or not won’t be decided by her sexual preference. It should be completely irrelevant to the comic. We’ll see whether it is or not. If they try to make it a focal point of the comic, it will flop pretty fast.

  • http://www.noonzwheels.com/ Alex Nunez

    Batwoman: Good

    Spider-Woman (from New Avengers): Better

On topic: Honestly, I could care less if she’s gay. DC seems to like these kinds of stunts, as evidenced by HIV-infected Speedy.

  • http://history-nerd.blogspot.com/ Daniel

so diane… terrorists butcher civilians all the time, and you don’t blink an eye; but our troops get accused of it, and they’re automatically raving murderous bastards? double-standards, any one?

and more on topic, i’m a bit pissed that they made bat girl into a lesbian. not because that means there’s a lesbian comic character, though; i just think that if they wanted a lesbian character, they should have made a new one up.

  • http://highdesertwanderer.com/ High Desert Wanderer

I won’t get into the how “unnecessary and immoral” it is to stop a dictator who’s killed hundreds of thousands of people. Do you do realize that we’ve been in and around Iraq since Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1990? If you’re going to blame someone for starting this, how about Bush Senior for sending in the troops? Clinton for drawing it out when he could have ended it? The UN for not enforcing it’s own sanctions? Saddam for being the psychopathic killer he appears to be?

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Brooke, very good idea, and actually true IRL.
The problem with comics and this type of exposure to deviant behavior at an early age is that comics are read by young impressionalble children. For the second time this month, our local paper, The State has refused to print doonsbury? sp? because of inappropriate language. The strip is not really a comic strip in the normal use of the word. It has been an anti-republican/conservative/war strip for about the last ten years and does not belong on the same page as beetle bailey, family circus and for better or worse.

  • http://highdesertwanderer.com/ High Desert Wanderer

Diane, have you considered how you would tell the Iraqis that they were better off with Saddam. How you would tell that to the men who’s families were tortured and killed in front of them. To the villages that are now gone because he gassed them. Told the starving that Saddam in his palace was better than the alternative hope of freedom. Told that to the women who were raped and disfigured just because it amused Saddam’s sons.

We all have to live with the choices we make. Put yourself in Bush’s shoes. Which would you choose, to let hundreds of thousands suffer and die, or try to save them at the cost of significantly less( but still significant) lives lost. It’s not as easy a choice as you would think.

  • http://history-nerd.blogspot.com/ Daniel

High Desert Wanderer on June 2, 2006 at 9:51 AM

    Two reasons:
    1) Because I can
    2) Because the term ‘Bat’ reminds me of two very batty people: BatOne and Bush.

Chad on June 2, 2006 at 10:14 AM

Oh, I agree lawless barbarians must be brought to heel, and they will be, because all of their Coalition is deserting them now, piece by tattered piece. The reason Senior Bush stopped is the reason Sonny Boy should never have gone in; well, one of them. You can see how much ‘help’ we’ve gotten from anyone on this debacle.

    How long until November???????

Yes, mistakes have been made, and tragedy has occurred, but far fewer than any other military venture in history

You say it like “Yeah, the coffee was a little cold this morning, but it’s not that bad anyway”.

You are just freaking unbelievable. Tell it to the Iraqis, and tell it to them face to face.

    Bwaaa haaa haaa haaa

kbiel on June 2, 2006 at 9:12 AM

This is exactly the type of mentality I’m talking about.

Bhrooke…notice it wasn’t me who took the thread in another direction, I just followed; and gladly.

Now here we have a NORMAL human being (as differentiated from most on this blog):

All too often in these circumstances, nerves, emotions and ignorance overcomes these young men, and the worst within them emerges, and it is only AFTER the fact they realize the great harm they have inflicted. They will be punished and rightly so, not only for murder, but for dishonoring their uniform and the nation they served.

That’s all well and good Roman, but the people they massacred will be just as dead and their families just as devastated.

The Iraq war is in itself one of the poorest possible judgment, and it will remain with us throughout this century. History will record this decade as one of America’s worst.

Roman on June 2, 2006 at 2:03 AM

Now there’s a normal ex-military opinion, Roman, and I thank you for it. One reason my comments are extreme on this blog is that when people are crazy as loons and shouting at the top of their lungs, you don’t get their attention by whispering.

You have nailed this except that the Iraq war will never be erased as a bloody dark spot in America’s history. And Bush will surely go down as the worst and bloodiest President of all times, beginning an unnecessary and immoral war which caused the participants on our side to lose their minds because they had no idea who the enemy is, why they’re the enemy, and what the heck we’re doing there. So, in an attempt to find the enemy, they kill anyone who is available as free game. They may be punished adequately, but again, so far no one has been punished in a way that fits their crimes, and the top guys, the responsible guys, will most likely retire to estates and foreign bank accounts.

Thank you, Roman, for having the sense and courage to have posted that. I really respect that and you for doing it.

  • diane

Diane, have you considered how you would tell the Iraqis that they were better off with Saddam

I don’t have to. My civil engineer friend in Baghdad tells me that himself.

We all have to live with the choices we make. Put yourself in Bush’s shoes. Which would you choose, to let hundreds of thousands suffer and die, or try to save them at the cost of significantly less( but still significant) lives lost. It’s not as easy a choice as you would think.

Oh really now? Then why hasn’t he done anything for people who are suffering much more than Iraqis were when he shocked and awed them. Most had really decent lives, jobs, freedom of religion. But you don’t want to believe that, so you won’t. Except for sanctions, of course.
But, my friend tells me even that was better than it is now, under Bush.

I don’t suppose Australia, Great Britain, Poland, Estonia, and all the other countries that have helped us out would be too happy with you just writing off the blood and sweat they’ve shed to turn a brutal dictatorship into a hope for democracy

Actually, they’re not happy with Dufus. That’s why they’re leaving, one by one by one. But that’s a tired emotional ploy anyway. I guess you missed the huge anti-war protests in our ally countries like Britain??????

And, by the way, Chad. You’re talking out of your hat. I have a friend who has lost everything material since the Bush invasion.
You want to go there for ‘lady liberty’? Well, it’s Dufus who sent people there, not ‘lady liberty’. He sent them because of the PNAC.
Get you head out of the ground and read it and see how what we’re doing in Iraq and what we’re thinking of doing in Iran fits right in nicely, as well as 9/11.

Who would have dreamed that you had to be stupid to be such a patriot????

Grow up and smell the coffee, Chad. You’re probably a nice guy, but nice guys aren’t right all the time.

And guess what Chad? It’s getting worse, not better. There is a group of four of us who pray every day just that this dear Christian man and his mom will make it to the next day safely because of Bush.

Aw, why bother? I’m horrible, I’m hateful, on and on and on and on.

    Don’t care. God’s watching.

You here at the blog are the best proof of the kind of low-lifes that Iraqis face every day; no conscience, no morals, just pseudo and faux everything.

Are you calling us Baathist? No that can’t be it, because they aren’t in power any more.

“Grant me the serenity to ignore the trolls,
the courage to debate with honest opponents,
and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Obviously I wasn’t listening to that when I let Diane draw me into this conversation. Diane, of all the blogs around, why are you arguing about Iraq in a post about Batwoman?

  • Chad

You know Diane, I will, If given the chance. Look at the history, read the declassified papers, check your facts, then maybe open that yap. I don’t suppose Australia, Great Britain, Poland, Estonia, and all the other countries that have helped us out would be too happy with you just writing off the blood and sweat they’ve shed to turn a brutal dictatorship into a hope for democracy. Yes, I’ll agree, It’s not perfect, but what are you doing about it? Whining and complaining, or are you actually contributing? I am, and so are all the other men and women in uniform that show up when lady liberty calls. Have you given of your hard-earned cash, have you done your bit with relief agencies, and have you tried to talk any murderous bastards out of sawing off the head of a woman just because she tried to report the truth of what’s happening in Iraq? I itch for the chance to do the job, to go there and help. I have asked to go, so that others don’t have to. Why? Not to take lives, but so that others can keep theirs. Not so I can win “glory”, and cover myself in medals, because you only get those when somebody screws up. The Iraqi people deserve the same rights every freedom loving people should have. Life, Liberty, Pursuit of The One Shining Ideal that makes OUR country great. FREEDOM! Why do you think that our comic book heroes are free to be homosexual, or Amoral, or to be warlocks, or even misunderstood criminals. Because they are free. (See, I’m trying to bring it back on the thread, here) Yes, people screw up, but at least we try to do the right thing. Yes, those marines might have killed those people. I don’t know, I wasn’t there. But I can tell you this, if they did, they’ll pay for it. That’s the difference between us and the animals we fight in Iraq. We don’t murder without consequence, and mostly we don’t murder at all. When we fire a weapon, we have to follow the Rules Of Engagement, the enemy has none. People make mistakes. In my business, that means people die. These guys, if they pulled the trigger, they’ll regret it the rest of their lives, I guarantee you the enemy will not. You think I’m nonchalant about murder? No, I am not, I hold life dear, and a gift from God. The facts are not in yet on Haditha, and until they are, I’m not about to judge the men who were there. If the court comes back and says Guilty, then yes, those men will have been PROVEN guilty, and if I’m ordered to, I’d carry out any court’s verdict. BUT they must be PROVEN guilty. That’s how freedom works. Sorry this got away from me a little bit, but It just kept coming.

  • Chad

Sorry Diane, but it’s not about being “stupid” enough to be a patriot. Yeah, I think most people would say that I am a nice guy, but that still has nothing to do with anything I wrote up above. Yes, some things were better under Saddam Hussein, If you were a Sunni. If you were a baathist. If you could just keep your head down low enough to stay under the radar. If you could suck up and manage to get a good job. How many schools were turned into “rape houses” by Uday and Qusay? Why is most of the power grid in such horrible shape? Not the sanctions. Hussein could’ve gotten things done, but instead he used the money on himself, and for his own glory, and to stay in power. There were billions of dollars that he had access to that were used to build palaces, buy cars, hide the WMDs. (See the book “Disinformation” by an author by the last name of Miniter. He used to write for the NYT) Yes, it’s bad over there. Is it really America’s fault? Or did we just inherit the problems because we DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT? Oh, and do you know the reasons the Poles, Estonians, etc. are leaving Iraq? Not because they’re unhappy with The President of the United States (show a modicum of respect)? Because their mission is done. Their sectors are showing almost no violence. They are in the southern parts of Iraq, amidst the people that Saddam was most cruel to. They’ve done a good job, and now they can go home. We, on the other hand have to deal with the most populated sectors, and the areas with the most access to Syria and Iran (both sponsors of the terrorists). They target us, because of their pride in taking potshots at the most free people in the world. They don’t like us because we say it’s O.K. to worship whomever you choose. They want to make the whole world fit in their little mold. I don’t know your friend, but I have some friends of my own. I know two Iraqi expatriots that say this is the best thing to happen to their country in 30 years. I know a bunch of guys that are over there right now, and they e-mail me about the schools, water purification plants, and power stations they are putting up. I know several aid workers, and they share their hopes, and successes, and failures with me. Yeah, it’s not perfect, but at least somethings are getting better.

Dramatic but stupid. There is a well known Christian preacher who was a Muslim. He’s alive and well and proseltyizing Muslims in a number of ways. There are others as well. Hey, guess what? There are also Jews who are now Christians. They’ve probably been more persecuted than ex-Muslims. You should put down the comic books and go meet some real Arab people and some real Muslims and then come back and share what you learned.

Man, you people are a laugh a minute.

Eugh, a lipstick socialite as Batwoman? That’s about as appealing as a Britany Spears impersenator offering ‘massages’ while wearing oven mitts. Really, it’s not diversity and if they want to make a hero to appeal to the queer youth market [which I presume was one of the hits covered by this move] they shoud try something a bit more realistic, even if she’s still resurected a zillion times. AWSOME!!! Finally a Comic Book Character I can relate to! Yes I am lesbian. and I have always liked batgirl. No I never thought of her as being lesbian and I always liked the character. But now the chracter is even more personal to me. Because
One, Its showing me that Being lesbian isn’t a bad thing and I don’t have to hide it.
Two, Its pretty cool that a comic book HERO is lesbian because maybe they can show how Hard it really is Because of all the closed minded people out there for any gay (yes man or woman) to even be who they are and how they feel in love with the same sex. The stares, the verbal assault. etc etc.
It is hard being gay. but it is even more hard to stand up and Be who you are. gay or not.

And to the person who said all the comic would be is two girls kissing alot.. You say that because SpiderMan Is ALWAYS kissing Maryjane!?
Superman is always kissing Louis Lane?
    Should I go on?
So what if two girls are kissing in the comic book. Its about time that the public opens its eyes. Gay and Lesbian Is not going to leave no matter how hard people try to ignore it. When I was growing up I remember how everyone use to Frown on Blacks and Whites dateing.. Things change. Get use to it. Grow up. Worry about your own life and stop trying to Control ours.

and for all the guys out there who ask lesbians. why they don’t sleep with guys.. place yourself in the situation.. Your a straight guy.. and someone asks you why you don’t sleep with a guy… EW MUCH!! thats how we feel too..

And for the cool guys who ask me what the secret to women is… hey all I have to say is. when you find out.. PLEASE TELL ME!! (yes I am a girl and I don’t even understand them!) thank you.

I believe that in the USA there are fewer regulations regarding starting a business and so on. But greater freedom of mobility? Than the EU? Freer internet access? And I don’t understand why having lower taxes is an indicator of freedom. Democracies vote for the party who they believe will help them and their country the most. If democracy and freedom are so closely linked, how can a country be said to be less free if it freely votes for higher taxes (and correspondingly good public services)? If you go to Norway, for example, and see the high quality of life there, free education and an essentially bi-lingual, well-educated populace, clean streets and great standards of health, you won’t find too many complaining about how unfree they are.
It seems to me that individual liberty, state protection and state redistribution do a complicated little dance, but it must be this way, otherwise people fall so far that they cannot be said to be free any longer. I accept the loss of some financial freedom, in return for the freedoms that good universal education and social infrastructure provides.

it’s the same reason, Dave – - hot girls are nice to look at and two is better than one any day. I shouldn’t have to explain it in such detail for you . . . but I can get more graphic if you need me to.

Yeah, but how many women do you know that want to see two gay guys, ripped or not, on top of each other?

Cheif, DocDave, I’m with you guys!

    Daniel comments:
if you don’t love america–or if you love some other country more than america–then why the hell would you live here?

Well, we know bullwinkle is a citizen of no less than THREE countries and he deferred answering my question when I asked several times where his first loyalties lie. If you are a bullwinkle fan, you might want to ask him; maybe he’ll answer YOU? I think a person should be loyal to the country they are a citizen of and three countries is a bit much.

  • Chad

CDUSA, I’m just going off personal opinion here, but I say we are the “most free” people in the world because of our system. A system where you and I can disagree, air our differences with the government, and not be shot, tortured, raped, or any of a hundred different punishments meted out the world over for dissent. Look at some of the things people say right here. Now I grant that some other societies have a free press, and freedom of speech, but we also have lower taxes, greater freedom of mobility, freer internet access, and many of the things that make people come to America. How many people immigrate here every year? That right there should tell you that people see this as the “most free” society in the world. It’s the American dream.

  • http://history-nerd.blogspot.com/ Daniel

no cd, i will not leave off the love it or leave it approach. if you don’t love america–or if you love some other country more than america–then why the hell would you live here?

and you may want to take your own advice on “watching what you’re saying”… had you been paying attention you would have noticed that it was chad, not me, who said america was the freest country in the world, and i’d say he’s doing a good job of defending that statement.

  • Chad

CDusa, You’ll note that I did say that this was simply my opinion. As far as moving to Norway, I’ll pass. Not that it’s a bad place, but I’d rather not have to pay for everyone’s “redistribution of wealth” theories. The smaller % of taxes you pay, the more financial freedom you should have (assuming you can budget and live within your means). As far as freedom of mobility, I can get in my car with a little gas money in my pocket, and drive all over the country, and so can just about everyone else. We have a much higher percentage of personally owned vehicles than just about anywhere else.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

Not to mention that forcing us to give the government part of our irreplaceable life-span (hours worked) at the threat of imprisonment or worse isn’t exactly associated with freedom.

  • http://www.kenmccracken.blogspot.com/ Ken McCracken

Bullwinkle obviously loves America, unlike you Dhiane, even if it isn’t his first loyalty.

Loyalty tests – how very McCarthyite of you Dhiane.

  • calm down, USA

How do you know I don’t live there already, Daniel!? The internet is worldwide, dude. And maybe you should move to Norway. Perhaps then you would learn some common courtesy, instead of rude and empty gags. And please, please spare me the love-it-or-leave-it stuff, okay? It’s a little embarrassing and it goes against the freedoms of expression you presumably defend. Moreover, I have not said that the US is a bad country, I was simply politely querying your opinion that America is the freest nation in the world, an opinion which may or may be a false assumption. Or, of course, may be true. Must one leave a country to query its status as freest or best? Please listen to what you’re saying, and the way you’re saying it.

  • goprairie

Isn’t it obvious? (Nearly) Every man wants to watch two women exchangning affection because in his mightiness of ego imagines once they notice him watching they will see the deficincy in their ways and turn thier affection simultaneously to him.

    Khen McCrappin’ shouts:

But you are one of the grop here who thinks spying on Muslim citizens of this country is fine by checking their emails, financial records, etc.? Or don’t you, Khen?

And you have NO idea if Bullwinkle loves America and I don’t. I DISAGREE with you Khen. You are turning America into crap, Khen.

That makes me love America much more than TripleCitizenWinkle or you or anyone on this blog who supports this sadistic imperialism and attacks on our freedoms.

So shut up about my love for America, Khen, you faux patriot.

And Winkle should pick a country and tell us how loyal he really is before knocking my views on anything. This is my ONLY country of citizenship.

  • diane

Daniel, you’re not just a bit confused. You are utterly, and possibly hopelessly, confused.

I’m sorry, I don’t have time to try to help you. I must go walk my doggie.

  • http://www.kenmccracken.blogspot.com/ Ken McCracken

But you are one of the grop here who thinks spying on Muslim citizens of this country is fine by checking their emails, financial records, etc.? Or don’t you, Khen?

Oh I hope we are, whenever possible.

And you have NO idea if Bullwinkle loves America and I don’t. I DISAGREE with you Khen. You are turning America into crap, Khen.

Oh yeah, blame all your moonbat problems on me.

That makes me love America much more than TripleCitizenWinkle or you or anyone on this blog who supports this sadistic imperialism and attacks on our freedoms.

Nice rationalization – but no Dhiane you really don’t like America, which is why you crap on it whenever possible.

So shut up about my love for America, Khen, you faux patriot.

Name one good thing about American, you ‘real patriot’.

And Winkle should pick a country and tell us how loyal he really is before knocking my views on anything. This is my ONLY country of citizenship.

Well you should shop for a new citizenship – you obviously can’t stand America, maybe you should move to, say, North Korea? Think of all the weight you could lose.

My my, how touchy our little Dhimmi Dhiane gets when you question her patriotism!

She doth protest too much I think.

docdave: “What’s the audience for a queer female hero?”

I don’t know; recent graduates of our socialized public “education” system who have been indoctrinated with the homosexual leftist agenda for most of their youth? Ya think?

  • http://wizbangblog.com/ Jay Tea

I, too, am outraged at this story.

    It’s not a new BatGIRL who’s a lesbian, but a new BatWOMAN.

    EVERYBODY’S getting this story wrong.

    Sorry Chief,
are you calling fancying women deviant? Cos I fancy women and so do you (I’m guessing). Sexuality is basically impossible to inflict upon someone anyway, it just is. If you were told to be gay, could you stop being straight? I don’t think so. I don’t think being gay is easy (telling parents, getting beaten up, getting lectured at, being told you’re not entitled to a spiritual life, being told to keep away from kids (!!) and so on.)
I think it’s a bit mean to say your own sexuality’s great and slag off other people’s:
If my partner is single, adult, consenting and human, why not just be happy for me? Where’s the harm?

  • kbiel

Bush’s war is turning American kids into crazy, cold-blood killers.

And they’re coming home to YOUR neighborhood soon….

Yes Diane, you are right. They will be knocking on your door very soon. My home will be safe because I’m a member of the evil, neo-con cabal of Bush ass-kissers. You, on the other hand, better stop posting on-line, lock all of your doors and hide under your bed until January of 2009 when President Hillary takes office.

    Bwaaa haaa haaa haaa

  • diane

    Yes, McCrackpot, you certainly are.

But Marines slaughtering; that’s horrific, sickening, disgusting…not boring.

Let’s hope we don’t wake up and find out they’ve been up to even more malicious activity. Where will it end.

Good night and sleep tight and be thankful you’re not in Iraq with crazy U.S. Marines all around you. When you look at your kids, picture some hairy backed, sweaty Marine blowing their head off….cause that’s what Iraqis stay awake at night thinking about.

  • markie

I always thought mainstream comics are for kids are for kids,I guese not Forget the kids just sell cartoon porn. This is just a marketing tool, those are the kind of cartoons you bould see in men’s magazines.

  • http://wizbangblog.com/ Jay Tea

OK, let’s spell it out for the non-geeks out there:

Batgirl was originally Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Gordon’s daughter. She gave it up after being shot and paralyzed by the Joker as part of a plot against Gordon and the Batman — Joker didn’t know she was Batgirl.

The second Batgirl was Cassandra Cain, who recently retired.

The first Batwoman was Kathy Kane, and she was active in the 50′s and 60′s. She retired from crimefighting, and was killed in 1979.

DC is bringing in a new Kate Kane to be Batwoman, and SHE’S the lesbian.

Are we clear now? Or do I have to get even geekier on you all?

    J.

  • Brooke

What? Were we talking about Batgir (woman)? I thought every single thread around here was mandated to be a Dhiane anti-war diatribe.

Anyhow, five minutes along Batman will turn her straight again!

    *wink*

Yeah Jay Tea, you gotta watch that.
