Barrack Obama’s Duality On Iraq

Here’s Barrack Obama speaking about Iraq just last year:

…having visited Iraq, I’m also acutely aware that a precipitous withdrawal of our troops, driven by Congressional edict rather than the realities on the ground, will not undo the mistakes made by this Administration. It could compound them.
It could compound them by plunging Iraq into an even deeper and, perhaps, irreparable crisis.

Here’s a quote from Barrack Obama’s 2008 campaign site:

Senator Obama introduced legislation in January 2007 to offer a responsible alternative to President Bush’s failed escalation policy. The legislation commences redeployment of U.S. forces no later than May 1, 2007 with the goal of removing all combat brigades from Iraq by March 31, 2008 — a date consistent with the bipartisan Iraq Study Group’s expectations.

I think someone needs to ask Senator Obama why pulling out was a bad idea last year but a good idea now. I mean, what’s changed in Iraq to chagne his mind? Not a thing, as far as I can tell. What he said last year is still true today.
Perhaps it’s something in the Senator’s life that changed. Like maybe a bid for President in 2008? In which case it would mean that Obama is putting politics above sound policy in Iraq.
Pretty disgusting, no?

“Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.”
    —Winston Churhill”

The quote I based my previous comment around. Took me a while to find it. Remember Churhill, led England during the darkest days of World War II, the German war machine was defeated, then the Brits threw his ass off the stern of the boat, into deep water, when they discovered fighting and sacrifice was just a thing of the past. They chose to bow at the alter of political correctness and collecting the bounty of a socialist society.
The British public changed their minds, Churhill did not, good for him.
When Churhill was leading the British, I don’t think he ever once, spit on his finger, stuck it into the prevailing winds of public opinion, and factored that into his decisions.
In my demented mind, I see the connection, between leaders that lead, politicians who simply want to gain a few points in opinion polls.
In my simple study of history, there has been no leader that inspired the populus like Winston Churhill.
Obama would not make a decent pimple on Churhill’s ass.

How can anyone say The President’s plan for adding more troops temporarily in Baghdad is a “failed policy” two months into the surge. All the troops are not even in place yet! Sure glad these Dems were not in place during WWII, our Civil War or WWI. They were in place during Vietnam.

The GWOT Global War On Terrorism is too serious a situation to turn it into a political football.

All this is my opinion as was my last post.

    Sparkie,
“Licks finger… holds to the breeze…”

Yes, it is no more complicated than that.
A democrat’s perception of public opinion will far outweigh any personal integrity or any deep-seeded political philosophy that they may have accidentally stumbled upon.

    Duality? Nonsense!

Like most denizens of the Left, Illinois’ junior Senator (VERY junior!) is afflicted with a substantial deficiency in principles and a serious overdose of expediency.

With only a steady diet of self-delusion and DNC talking points to sustain him, its no wonder the youngster is so ethically undernourished.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Eneils, thanks for the reminded and the facts surrounding Britain’s stand against NAZI facism. GWOT is real. The Democrats are trying to make believe it does not exist. They are trying to legislate out The Truth. What’s next?

  • http://www.sayanythingblog.com/ electnixon

Chief, I agree on the ‘failed escalation policy’ comment. WTF!? It’s barely begun, has had very good results thus far, and Obamarama chooses to refer to it as ‘failed’.

The GWOT Global War On Terrorism is too serious a situation to turn it into a political football.

Too late, considering that the phrase itsself is under attack.

We haven’t made a single improvement in Iraq over the past year? My, you’re a cynic.

CHIEF SAID: How can anyone say The President’s plan for adding more troops temporarily in Baghdad is a “failed policy” two months into the surge. All the troops are not even in place yet! Sure glad these Dems were not in place during WWII, our Civil War or WWI. They were in place during Vietnam.

The surge hasn’t even finished and the defeatocrats are already calling it a failure. I may not be the smartest guy in the world but I do know that you can’t call something a failure before its even started.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Neiman, your statement is, in my opinion also, correct. The Democrats are invested in our failure. They are playing “chicken” with our way of life.

  • Neiman

The second brigade has just arrived and a third has to be added, so with solid progress being made with just one of the three brigades in place, I would expect an acceleraion of our successes once we are at full levels.

The Democrats have already convinced themselves that failure in Iraq is absolutely necessary for their political future and that Iraq is already lost, that nothing we do now can or should turn things around in Iraq. So, in his mind Obama is not lying nor has he changed his mind, like most of the Democrats, Obama has succeeded in repeating the liberal lies about Iraq over and over to himself until he can no longer discern what the truth is about anything, only what the truth for him is at this isolated moment in time. I absolutely assure you that if things turn around in Iraq in a big way and it becomes obvious we will win, most Democrats will convince themselves they were for victory all along and that it was their takeover of Congress that made it happen.

Pogue Colonel: Marine, what is that button on your body armor?
Private Joker: A peace symbol, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Where’d you get it?
Private Joker: I don’t remember, sir.
Pogue Colonel: What is that you’ve got written on your helmet?
Private Joker: “Born to Kill”, sir.
Pogue Colonel: You write “Born to Kill” on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What’s that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?
    Private Joker: No, sir.
Pogue Colonel: You’d better get your head and your ass wired together, or I will take a giant shit on you.
    Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Now answer my question or you’ll be standing tall before the man.
Private Joker: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.
    Pogue Colonel: The what?
Private Joker: The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Whose side are you on, son?
    Private Joker: Our side, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Don’t you love your country?
    Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Then how about getting with the program? Why don’t you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?
    Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Son, all I’ve ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God. We are here to help the Vietnamese, because inside every gook there is an American trying to get out. It’s a hardball world, son. We’ve gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over.
    Private Joker: Aye-aye, sir.

  • Neiman

Goon: You can if you are a Democrat, in fact it is obligatory if you want to stay in the party.

  • http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ goon

Neiman, your probably right but what good does it do to be so dishonest. I think the dems problems is that the American public isn’t as stupid as they they think they/we are.

    Eneils
I know… I would cite Howard Dean as the No. 1 finger lickin good Dem.

Dave, slow down and read what I wrote again. I said “What’s changed in Iraq to change his mind.”

Obviously we’ve made progress, but the situation there as it relates to his comments (pulling out would cause major chaos) hasn’t changed.
