Barney Frank Comes Right Out And Says It: Automaker Bankruptcy Would Bust The Unions

We all know the Democrats want to bail out the automakers for the sake of propping up the auto unions who, with declining national enrollment, can hardly afford to lose labor contracts with Detroit’s big three. It’s another thing, however, to hear a Democrat come right out and say that:

Why do the unions deserve a bailout any more than the big auto giants? They made their bed together. Let them lay in it.

Wow! Hmmmm… Sometimes in the darkest of clouds there is a silver lining.

    So?

what most people fail to realize is that just because GM, Ford, or Chrysler file for bankruptcy, it doesn’t mean that the company will close its doors. Instead, they reorganize and correct the current issues (including the union debacle), then re-emerge as a stronger more viable company in the future. Busting the unions would be the best thing that could happen for most of these companies.

GOOD… That is the best news I have heard all day.

It’s been longer than that for me. Probably at least a month.

(Not that I consider Barney Frank to be credible about anything.)

This strikes me as an outstanding reason to not bail out the big three and allow them to fall into bankruptcy.

Either way the democraps will pass the “card check’ policy and the unions will be back in control eventually.

My dream car is a Cadilac XLR and It would be sad to see them go under but this industry needs a fresh start. The union contracts all need to be renegotiated from ground zero otherwise the auto industry in America is as good as dead anyway.

That’s the idea, Frank. The unions are part of the problem.

Barney Frank is one of the most useless human beings on the face of the planet. To have to look at him, knowing his lack of integrity in his position is sickening. To listen to him, actually causes reflux, so I dont.
“He” is a big part of the problem. “His” leadership provided lack of oversite to Fanny may and Freddy Mac, while he received their campaign contributions.
If I was gay, the shame of seeing him in such a high profile govenment position would force me back to the closet.
    A Disgrace to homo’s everyhere.

The unions are part of the problem

    Nay, not part, nearly all…

This may be a good thing!

So it’s win-win: bust the unions that are busting the industry, and clear the field for some innovation and competition. If American car companies made a good car an average American could afford, they’d sell more.

Don’t worry, the Democrats and RINOs will pull defeat from the jaws of victory on this one.

    Amen to that.
