Barbarians Don’t Understand the Concept of Insurance

NEW DELHI: Comparing the benefits of health insurance policy to gambling, key Islamic organisations have termed the policies as “illegal” and directed Muslims to keep away from them.

At a seminar to deliberate whether insuring health was permissible under Islamic law Shariat, the Islamic Fiqh Academy (India) decided that availing such policies was illegal.

Just more proof how many in the Islamic world live more in the middle ages than in the modern world. Gambling is about risk. I would consider going without insurance to be gambling that you are not going to be sick.

On the other hand having insurance reduces your risk. You’re paying a small amount of money to avoid that risk.

Having insurance reduces your risk of becoming sick?

Having insurance is like betting against yourself don’t you think? It’s a negative attitude, I might become sick therefor I should purchase health insurance.

It’s just like automobile insurance, I don’t think it should be necessary. Of all the money you put into that scam, you could afford to be sued several times over and still be ahead of the game.

But then again it’s better to be safe than sorry. At least thats what they say.

I heard that Muslims can not own accounts that make interest, or at least their not suppose to. I guess maybe the Muslims motto can be Do or Die.

Right about now I’m happy to have insurance. Appendix is coming out at in an hour.

I hope you are being facetious. If not, you are breathtakingly ignorant. I don’t need to bet on you having the money to cover whatever damage or injury you may cause me in an accident. THAT my friend is why you have insurance. Not to protect your stupid ass, but to cover my loss. Unless you want to be my indentured servant the rest of your life. Sober up.

Health insurance is to protect you against uncertainty of large bills. Like car insurance it is much easier to pay small amount per month instead of getting some accident and having to buy a new car.

I hate paying insurance, but just the thought of my home burning down and not being insured, quickly makes me reach for my wallet.
