Barack Obama’s SUV Hypocrisy

Obama on American energy usage:

We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.

Obama getting a ride to the airport from a big, fat, 12mpg Chevy Suburban:

So when Obama says that “we” can’t drive your SUV’s as much as we want, and that “we” can’t keep our homes at whatever temperature we want, he really just means you.

The SUV is owned by the government and used by the Secret Service for the protection of presidential candidates.

Spot the Secret Service guy opening the door.

The words “as much as we want” are somewhat different than “when we need to”.

But, I am sure this is over your head.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

And now maybe you might comprehend the sentence: “I make personal choices so that I can drive my SUV as much as I want”.?

Now, maybe you might meditate on the fatuousness of that statement.

“I make personal choices (not clubbing baby seals) so that I can kill as many bald eagles as I want.”

That makes a lot of sense, too!

Typical liberal. Like Ariana Huffington. Want choice for themselves, but other people should make sacrifices.

Eh? Not surprisingly, you get it wrong again. I, like a typical Liberal, make responsible choices so that I don’t have to drive far to work everyday. That means instead of living country, I live town. When I am not driving to customer sites or on base, I am merely driving to work and home for a total sum of under 4 miles maximum each day.

I don’t need to drive very far at night as going out consists of only a few miles and I usually take a cab if I drink. So, there you have it.

It’s called personal eco-friendly choice my dopey friend.

And some of us are merely fixated on his success as a blogger and all but pee all over themselves with glee if they suspect they may have caught him in a mistake!

Uh, ok if you say so. But the fact of the matter is, Skipper is a lying, propagandist who lacks basic reading comprehension skills. His arguments get him into trouble. Its really nothing more than that.

Heh. It’s called living on a small island, dope! How environmentally friendly was it when they shipped in your big SUV (because they certainly didn’t build it there!), when, according to you, everything is in walking or biking distance?

“Eco-friendly”: Yet another word Hannitized doesn’t understand! Heh.

I made a personal choice this last week. I drove to Massachusetts instead of flying there. Only took me about 70 gallons of gas. But, I swerved to miss to chipmunks, so it’s all good!

So you’re telling us that Obama needs to ride around in a Suburban? He and his kids couldn’t fit into, say, a sedan?

Obama merely said we can expect to drive around our SUVs as much as we want. Not that we can’t ride one at all.

You have a problem with comprehension.

Personally, I don’t really care if Obama uses an SUV. Heck I use mine all the time. I love it. I just resent Obama saying I can’t drive mine whenever I want when he clearly uses SUV’s when he wants.

Only an idiot would think he said that you “cant”. Thus…..

What Obama actually said was that you can’t expect other countries to follow us if we don’t lead by example. Therefore, we shouldn’t expect to drive our SUVs as much as we want.

I make personal choices so that I can drive my SUV as much as I want. I live a mile from my office, a couple miles from the beaches I surf (excluding the North Shore) and a couple miles from the restaurants and clubs I dine and drink in.

We all contribute in our own way. Or, some of us are like Rob.

  • http://massbackwards.blogspot.com/ Bruce

Well, Obama didn’t say ride a Prius, he said we can’t expect to drive our SUVs as much as we want.

F*** him. I’ll drive my gas-guzzling truck as much as I want. My truck, my gas money, my CHOICE.

Why is the english language so difficult for you guys to translate into correct meanings?

And, why are the concepts of individual liberty, personal responsibility, and the freedom of choice (when dealing with any topic other than abortion) so difficult for the left to understand and respect.

    Related:

“My policy toward Cuba will be guided by one word: ‘libertad,’ ” he said, using the Spanish word for liberty at an event celebrating Cuban Independence Day in Miami, Florida.

If only Barack “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times” Obama would adopt a similar policy toward the Unites States of America.

  • Fred

I suspect that SUV is provided at taxpayer expense. In any case Obama is just another N with big mouth. Screw him and the horse he rode in on.

Great point BB, these politicians should be tele-campaigning.

I, too, make personal choices so I can drive mine as much as I want. I choose to live 20 miles from where I work because I like the drive both ways–enjoying the scenery and sipping coffee in the morning, relaxing and unwinding on the drive home. I refuse to live ‘downtown’, but my favorite restaurants are there. That’s another 10 miles one-way if I choose to eat out.

There are days I put in 80 miles just enjoying myself. That’s close to 5 gallons of gas and at today’s price costs me about $16. That’s a small price to pay to live the life I enjoy. After all, it’s my money. Funny how that works, huh?

  • Mickey

The words “as much as we want” are somewhat different than “when we need to”.

Yeah I am sure those obama’s couldn’t get their fat heads into a 6 cylindar sedan. Although Michelles ass is built for a SUV seat. Hannitized, don’t be such a dope.

  • http://rotstar.blogspot.com/ LifeTrek

I don’t have a problem with this at all, the guy is a serious (meaning real possibility for election, not as in serious policies) candidate for President and there has to be reasonable security measures in place.

On the other hand I have already started a series of things we’ll have to give up In An Obama Nation.

You probably don’t understand it, still, because you are not that bright and you wouldn’t understand that people travel sometimes 45 miles from the North Shore, West Side, 15 miles from Windward Side and South Shore everyday to work in Hono.

The personal choice I made was to live in Hono, and sacrifice the beautiful scenery of the North Shore, Leeward Side or South Shore, so I don’t waste gas commuting to work everyday.

I need to drive my truck so that I can take customers/vendors out to lunch or dinner or visit them when I have customer meetings and or seminars.

    Too complex for you?

  • ollie-B

    Rob,
Can you be any less petty? If it wasn’t for the government buying those gas guzzling General Motors SUV’s the company would be in even more dire straits
and George will call on the American public to bail them out again. Now you wouldn’t want that, would you?

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

I need to drive my truck so that I can take customers/vendors out to lunch or dinner or visit them when I have customer meetings and or seminars.

That doesn’t sound like a need. Take the bus. Or walk.

When someone else defines what you need to do, there’s nothing that you can do that’s a neccessity.

The problem H, is that you’d bitch about this if it was McCain. But since it’s Obama, you go retarded over your need to defend him. You’re just another extremely intelligent person who loses their mind to Obama. Sad.

  • laydownSally

H takes his vendors out to lunch. That’s comical,…like taking a taxi when he drinks too much. You are the S. Pacific version of Woody Allen, a joke without a punchline.

Now wait a minute; the Suburban gets mileage of up to 20mpg on the highway, only 4mpg lower than Obama’s 300C with Hemi, and only 15mpg lower than Obama wants CAFE to go for passenger automobiles.

You can ALMOST get to 35mpg, BTW, with a Civic, but to really get there, you pretty much have to go Prius, Smart, or a VW diesel.

But hey, if you want his real gas guzzling, look at the plane; Boeing 757 sucking down 1100 gallons per hour. In one day, he uses more fuel for transportation than my family uses in a YEAR. In half a week, his transportation bill alone for energy exceeds my family’s bill for a year.

The words “as much as we want” are somewhat different than “when we need to”.

Who decides what a “need” is? And, why is it freedom (as much as we want) that is always in the crosshairs of liberalism? (I know, cause it’s liberalism) Come on H. tell us how American should be denied what they want for the “common good”.

I’ve gotten as much as 25mpg on the highway in my Yukon, but I doubt Obama’s suburban did much uninterrupted highway driving on the way to the airport.
