Barack Obama Wishes Everyone Would Stop Talking About Things That Are Inconvenient For His Campaign

All that is inconvenient for Barack Obama politically is just a distraction from the real issues.

RALEIGH, N.C.—A woman took the microphone at a town hall meeting here and stated the obvious to Sen. Barack Obama about last night’s ABC News debate.

“You were really pummeled,” she told the Illinois senator. All those questions on William Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, flag pins and guns made her wonder about the general election attacks yet to come. “What is your strategy to beat the Republicans in November?” the woman asked Obama.

“That was the roll out of the Republican campaign against me,” Obama responded. “That is what they will do. They will try to focus on all these issues.” He said he would answer the attacks “sharply and crisply,” and seek to turn the debate from “tit-for-tat silliness” to serious issues like the economy and Iraq. “If Republicans come at me, I will come right back at them,” Obama asserted, to loud cheers.

If Barack Obama thinks the average American - who is likely to just be beginning to engage in the Presidential race as the general election begins - isn’t going to care about Tony Rezko, Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright and William Ayers he’s kidding himself.

As I posted earlier, how could it possibly inspire confidence in the Democratic base that he’s so whiny about “Republican tactics”, given that’s what he’ll have to face in the fall if he’s the nominee.  That’s basically just saying he’s not ready.

The reason Barack has done so well thus far isn’t because people care about the “tit for tat” issues, but because they are tired of them.  Because you seem to be emotionally fulfilled by making baseless and futile accusations against Obama, doesn’t mean others are.

Sure, we have a hand full of republicans who are expressing mock outrage.  But it’s not like they were going to vote for him anyway.  Obama is generating enthusiasm of the new, younger voters who see real issues, such as education, the economy and others, as the drive for voting in this years elections.  Not the same ol same ol phony issues, such as “Al Gore invented the internet”.

Most Americans are tired of this line of attack.

Hannitized on April 17, 2008 at 05:37 pm

This is not at attack, but honest questions.  Why in the world would someone be a friend to an actual domestic terrorist---unless they embrace their philosophy.

When someone in my circles begins to exhibit even the slightest leaning or words to the effect that we need to ‘burn baby burn’ or kill cops or steal from a store or someone else because “if you don’t take it someone else will” etc.  I leave and do not initiate any more contact with that person.  But that’s me.  I think the American people have been sheltered by the MSM far too long from Mr. Obama’s idea of America.  What happened on ABC last night was a breath of fresh air.  If you want to compare, remember the"youTube" farce going on for an hour or more.  After the fact, it was discovered that almost all the “random callers” were Democrats.  It took bloggers about 15 minutes to expose them for the fraud they were.  I believe it was CNN.  Can anyone remember?

These things matter and he is going to get creamed if he keeps up with his snobby attitude.

Ehh. I don’t know Hannitized.  Obama’s mezmerising success was peaking in February.  the ‘tit-for-tat’ issues as I see them are Wright, Rezko, and the Bitter comments.  He hasn’t shrugged these issues off, he’s defended them.  These issues are tearing him up.

What tit-for-tat do you speak of?

Funny it is hillary that is using these Republican tatics on barack. Also, the GOP is going to be tearing him apart in the fall if he is the nom and he won’t be able to withstand the scrutiny he is going to face. Barack is a paper tiger that won’t be able to get by on his fancy speeches.

It is up to Mr. Obama to turn these “issues” into “non-issues”.  The issues are valid, and they won’t go away just because Mr. Obama doesn’t want to hear them anymore.  The GOP did not cultivate his membership in Rev. Wright’s church.  The GOP did not invite him to socialize with William Ayres.  The GOP did not script his ill-advised remarks to the swells in San Francisco.  A man (or woman) of substance could impress a lot of voters by answering these questions directly and honestly.  Only then will Mr. Obama be able to move on to those “issues” he wants to discuss.  Mr. Obama is merely showing us what he is made of—and there just isn’t a lot there without the florid oratory and “trust me” story arc.

Holy God!!!  Somebody actually wants to discuss the issues that effect Americans.

You know it won’t be John McCain.

These are his SUPPORTERS. Even his people are like “damn dude, you really SUCK when questioned about things”. That damned left wing Stephanopolous! Attacking that innocent Republican Obama! Oh. Wait…

You’re just being a “typical white person"**.

**Barack’s own words. This is how he writes off white people he doesn’t agree with.

The Democrats would normally say that the words Barack used are racist. But they won’t claim that of Barack, because the Democrats are largely dishonest hacks with little guiding principle outside of partisanship.

likwidshoe on April 18, 2008 at 02:07 am

Wouldn’t the Dem party be better off to disassociate themselves from Obama?

You’re right! It’s just a “handful” of “republicans” with “mock” outrage, so Barack should show the courage of his convictions and principle and bring his beloved mentor and spiritual advisor Jeremiah Wright on every campaign stop with him. In your face, “republicans with mock outrage”!

So “Barry” wants the Bittergate “clinging"(referring to working people as crackers or rednecks) remarks, and Tony Rezko, Rev Wright, Ayers, his half brother Jihadist, and etc. to go away and just focus on real issues like “hope” or “change.” Maybe some might give him the benefit of the doubt if he would recite the Pledge of Allegiance or put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem or terminate his membership with TUCC Chicago.

I know.  I mean, why even let them vote.

We don’t. Remember the electoral college, the super-delegates, and the little man behind the curtain?

Also, given the average american has a memory span of about 2.2 min, whether of not this stuff matters has to do with the rate that average americans can be shown this info. fast repititions, yes. rarely, perhaps not. just pepper them right before they vote.

they are gonna vote for whos prettier anyway.

Looks like the folks in Pennsylvania remembered past the 2.2 minutes and didn’t vote for the “pretty” one.

HA!… What is crazy is the Dems not disassociating themselves from Obama after all the Idiotic things he keeps saying. Obama, IMO should have backed out after his RACIST REV asked God to Damn our country! Silly me...I suppose that is why I am not a Dem. I think if Obama keeps talking it can only be helpful for Hillary & McCain. Did BO ever decide if he was going to wear his flag pin or not?

Zsa Zsa on April 23, 2008 at 05:28 am

I’m not sure if the moderate-democrats in the senate ever DID associate themselves with Barack, Zsa Zsa.

Look at the media however, even they are beginning to dissociate themselves from him in a way that doesn’t paint Obama in crystal.  The media no longer has Obama on the pedestal they once had him on.

dirl126 on April 23, 2008 at 09:07 am

I saw a Obama sign tied up on some ones fence the other day. His campaign stresses HOPE. What I keep wondering is HOPE for what? A over taxed, Socialistic society that makes everyone feel insecure where racism is encouraged? That is just my own opinion from what I have gathered about Obama. I used to love the Oprah show. BUT lately I can’t even stand to watch it because of her association with Obama and the Rev Jeremiah Wright.

Zsa Zsa on April 23, 2008 at 09:39 am

I HOPE the Dems have not sunk to a new low and really consider there candidate for all our sakes!  I never thought I would say this BUT Hillary would be better than Obama. Mind you, I will vote for McCain!

Zsa Zsa on April 23, 2008 at 09:43 am

That is because Obama is an empty suit. There is nothing there and it would appear he is worse than Kerry another elitist.

Goon, “Empty” is a good word to describe Obama. What is interesting to me is Biden got blasted because he had the nerve to call Obama clean cut or whatever he said. That was supposedly racist.  Yet, Obama has said some idiotic things. (Not to mention his wife and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.) I guess what I am saying is racism seems to be OK as long as you are black. OR at least that is how it appears to me.

Zsa Zsa,

Can you give me some examples of the “idiotic” things Obama has said?

Do you know of any?  Or are you just summarizing events that Rob has been mischaracterizing?

Hannitized on April 23, 2008 at 10:17 am

#1. A vote for me is a vote for all Black people. (Uh what about the rest of us?)
#2. Denying he Ever heard his good friend and Rev for a couple of decades plus make racist remarks.
#3. He desires to slap a windfall profits tax on the American people.

Hannitized, He is bad for our country.  IMO a vote for Obama will encourage Racism and turn our society into a Socialist playground. Not to mention his wife and how racist she is. I don’t believe we need any more racism. Especially from our elected Leaders. Dems would do well to disassociate themselves with this man.

Instead of an “idiotic” thing that was said, how about this for an “idiotic” thing that Barry Obama wrote:  “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.” (pages 99-100) - The Audacity of Hope (Title from a Rev Wright sermon that, of course, that BO never attended)- published in 2006.
