Barack Obama Wants Another $50 Billion Of Something Injected Into America’s Economy
It’s hard to tell what Obama is talking about here. More rebate checks? $50 billion more in entitlements?
Who knows.
If Obama is talking about rebate checks, however, that’s an interesting departure from liberal dogma. After all, if Obama admits that taking money out of government and putting it back in the pockets of taxpayers is good for the economy isn’t he tacitly making the argument for permanent rate cuts in the federal income tax? Something that would accomplish the same thing Obama wants to do without requiring that Americans first give the government their money so that it can be given back to them (a process costing Americans billions of dollars in and of itself)?
He is, but I’m sure Obama and his fellow liberals will ignore the obvious. Mostly because with stimulus payments the government is redistributing wealth, and not necessarily back to those who paid it in. The rebate checks weren’t sent back to Americans in proportion to the amount of taxes they paid in, meaning they weren’t so much “rebates” but rather just a big, fat check from the government meant to buy some votes.
