Barack Obama Is The Gaffe King

Michelle Malkin notes that when a Republican flubs a public statement the media never lets him or her live it down.  Dan Quayle’s “P-O-T-A-T-O-E” moment.  George Bush’s “Read my lips” moment.  George W. Bush’s entire library of “Bushisms.”

But what’s interesting is that Barack Obama makes humorous little verbal blunders all the time, but he never gets the same treatment his colleagues on the other side of the political aisle do.

Here’s a list of some of Obama’s more egregious gaffes:

* Last May, he claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

* Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”

* Last week, in front of a roaring Sioux Falls, S.D., audience, Obama exulted: “Thank you, Sioux City. ... I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.”

* Explaining last week why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?

Republicans get nailed because they’re Republicans.  Obama gets a pass because he’s the liberal messiah.

Fair?  Not even a little bit.  But that’s how it works.

No pass here.  Stupid is as stupid does.
If he is president when he says stupid things then he should get torched like Bush or Quayle or Ford…

I think being in Iowa too long could make you forget the fact that you’re currently in South Dakota.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

But only when he’s President, right?

Sure Brad.  You’re not giving him a pass at all.

I often wonder what color the sky is on planet Rob.

What world are you living in that would give you the idea that Bush isn’t given constant passes for his gaffes?  We merely point them out, laugh at them and move on.

Oh, I forgot.  This isn’t a serious blog, it’s a propaganda machine.  Never mind.

When we look at the “socialist paradise” that is Cuba, we must remember that a sizable share of the misery those people suffer is directly attributable to Che Guevara bringing Castro into power, and giving him many of the policies that have caused so much pain. The real symbol of Che should be the raft, to remind us of all those who have died on rafts in the ocean trying to escape the Cuban nightmare and get to freedom. And had he not been killed, begging for his life like a coward, he would’ve done the same thing again and again in countries all throughout Latin and South America. His actions have inspired terrorists across a continent and caused countless deaths.

Neither was the goracle, but I’m not sure Eunichized realizes that…

And what about calling a reporter “sweetie”?  That was conveniently swept under the rug.  smile

The Huffington Post is far from a mainstream news outlet.

If it had been a Republican it would have led off the nightly news broadcasts (and radio updates) along with a plethora of outraged freminists saying this disqualifies him from holding public office.

Furthermore they would have manufactured reasons to keep the item in the news for the better part of a week.

Finally “Sweetie” would have had a guest appearance on all of the morning talk shows, Today etc…

Balance that off with the Huffington Post coverage or some other internet news sites.

What world are you living in that would give you the idea that Bush isn’t given constant passes for his gaffes?  We merely point them out, laugh at them and move on.

PLEASE. Read the book Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them. The entire thing is gotcha politics. The Michael Moore film Feirenheit 9/11 starts by showing Bush look like an idiot. It further goes on to make a big deal out of him being on a golf course. The lie that Bush has taken x number of vacation days is based off the idea that if he’s not in the White House...he’s on vacation.

He was castigated for calling a reporter an asshole:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/rockwell/bushgaffe.html

The idea that Bush is a moron is constantly paraded, as misspeaks are brought up “Is our children learning?” “Oftentimes people ask me, ‘Why is it that you’re so focused on helping the hungry and diseased in strange parts of the world?’” They even rewrite a quote to pretend that he said the Queen visited in 1776. “She came here to celebrate our bicentennial in 17...1976.”

Even some of his comments which are brilliant are mocked: “Let me start off by saying that in 2000 I said, ‘Vote for me. I’m an agent of change.’ In 2004, I said, ‘I’m not interested in change --I want to continue as president.’ Every candidate has got to say ‘change.’ That’s what the American people expect.”

So stop pretending Bush has gotten a pass. And stop pretending that idiots like yourself don’t rush out of the woodworks to defend the worst candidate ever to run for President from well deserved mockery.

Why are you so fascinated with my balls and penis/penus?

As he should be.  What’s the issue with Lew Rockwell writing about that?  He is not the MSM either.

Stop pretending Bush isn’t getting a pass from the MSM, which is what the argument was.  Why are you trying to change the argument.

Cry me a river Rob. Gaffe all they want, if it’s just that, a gaffe. Although if a politician constantly for instance doesn’t know the difference between Sunni and Shiite’s, then that’s more than a gaffe.

I was just channeling Isaac Hayes over on R108’s take on this a second ago:
Can’t you just hear Isaac Hayes:

Who is the dude
who’s a gaffe machine with all that ‘tude?

Gaffe!

Right on!

Our man Gaffe is a bad mother-

Shut your mouth!

But I’m talking about Gaffe!

And we can dig it!

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Dont worry Rodney, one day I will have an answer for you on this, and then you can find another mystery word I am unfamiliar with that equates to a hill of beans.

Eunichized,

but which will demonstrate (again) that you aren’t half as well informed as you think you are, and rather less than half as witty as you think you are.

But hey, you can ask me more questions about a tool (SIPRnet) I was using when you were still drinking from a sippy cup again…
