Barack Obama Forgets That He’s A Senator

Doh:

“I’m surprised at how finely calibrated every single word was measured. I wasn’t saying anything I hadn’t said before, that I didn’t say a year ago or when I was a United States senator,” said Obama, who is still a senator from Illinois.

Presumptuous, no?  But not surprising from a guy who had his own presidential seal made up for himself before he’s even accepted his party’s nomination as a candidate let alone won the election.

Discussion question: Wouldn’t it be a bit more proper for candidates like Obama, and McCain for that matter, to resign their seats in Congress so that their constituents are still served properly even as they campaign for higher office?

YES. The only thing any of these self-important pricks are doing anymore is campaigning. If you can’t to the job that you were elected to do, why should the people of this country give you a promotion? Bullshit.

Yes. The taxpayers aren’t paying these people to campaign. Why should they be paid for a job they aren’t doing?

Should be “Ken”, not “Kem”.

If I was working for a company and not showing up, not doing my job, but out trying to find another job, networking and meeting with other business’s to try and get a better job...should I be fired from my old one?

Damn straight.

If you are not doing your job, you should resign.

These Senator’s need to resign from thier committees and appoint another or have a special election to fill the spot of Senator that they will need to fill when those running for president resign from thier repsonsibilities so they can concentrate on campaigning and the election.

As I see it now, it is a conflict of interest to hold a Senator seat and be out campaigning for president. You are not fullfilling your duties as a Senator, and not representing those that put you in office.
