Barack Obama Doesn’t Think People Who Survive Abortion Are Actually People

Because a baby is only a person if the mother decides it is, I guess.  That’s “choice.”

According to Barack Obama, Gianna Jessen shouldn’t exist.

Miss Jessen is an exquisite example of what antiabortion advocates call a “survivor.” Well into her third trimester of pregnancy, Gianna’s biological mother was injected with a saline solution intended to induce a chemical abortion at a Los Angeles County abortion center. Eighteen hours later, and precious minutes before the abortionist’s arrival, Gianna emerged. Premature and with severe injuries that resulted in cerebral palsy. But alive.

Had the abortionist been present at her birth, Gianna would have been killed, perhaps by suffocation. As it was, a startled nurse called an ambulance, and Gianna was rushed to a nearby hospital, where, weighing just two pounds, she was placed in an incubator, then, months later, in foster care.

Gianna survived then, and thrives now, because, as she told me recently with a laugh, “I guess I don’t die easy.” Which is what the abortionist might have thought as he signed his victim’s birth certificate. Gianna’s medical records state that she was “born during saline abortion.”

[...]

As an Illinois state senator, Barack Obama twice opposed legislation to define as “persons” babies who survive late-term abortions. Babies like Gianna. Mr. Obama said in a speech on the Illinois Senate floor that he could not accept that babies wholly emerged from their mother’s wombs are “persons,” and thus deserving of equal protection under the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.

A federal version on the same legislation passed the Senate unanimously and with the support of all but 15 members of the House. Gianna was present when President Bush signed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act in 2002.

When I asked Gianna to reflect on Mr. Obama’s candidacy, she paused, then said, “I really hope the American people will have their eyes wide open and choose to be discerning. . . . He is extreme, extreme, extreme.”

Extreme indeed.  Which is exactly why he’s never going to be in the White House.

Maybe he thinks they are just 3/5 of a person.

According to his followers Obamessiah wasn’t conceived in the usual manner.  A demon impregnated his mother and voila, there he was, the unborn.

I wonder if it has ever occurred to Obama what kind of person would be needed to kill a baby just out of the womb.  It would be cruel, but I dare suggest that a good thing for those who support abortion would be a requirement to watch one.

Wow. If that is true then Barack officially lost any chance he had at getting my vote. I am very moderate with my political views, including my views on abortion, but his views on abortion are flat out inhumane. I am discusted.

Sounds like a dumb law; if a fetus emerges alive, of course it gets legal protection.  The proposed is silly and reduplicative.

jpe on June 5, 2008 at 02:19 pm

Not so dumb at all.  The law was inspired by incidents at a hospital in suburban Chicago, where abortionists did kill babies who had been born by exposure and, I believe, suffocation.

Yes, those who did that should get a date with Old Sparky.  Unfortunately, that’s not the way it’s currently done, thanks to people like Sen. Obama.

Bike Bubba on June 5, 2008 at 02:25 pm

...if a fetus emerges alive…

You mean ”human fetus”, right?

Communists, liberals and now this Democrat has redefined a living human being.
Certain women want the right to murder children.  SocialDemocrats went along with their scheme, but now it is expanding, just like all government programs.

“On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I’ve said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn’t have that.” ~Barack Obama

He was obviously lying, wasn’t he?  When it comes right down to legislation, he’s a baby-killer.

All I’ve said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn’t have that.

And if he were honest, he would tell you that partial birth abortion is never needed to protect the health of the mother, according to medical experts.
Short answer? Obama is lying.

Proof.  Yes, and this “protect the mother” verbage may involve about 5% of all the murders of innocent civilian babies in the USA.  Most all are just a form of murderous birth control because the woman was too ignorant or lazy to take birth control pills or use the Medicaid paid procedure.

“protect the mother” verbage

...was always a loophole big enough to drive a truck through. I knew women who got an abortion to “preserve her health”...her mental health. It would have depressed her to have an unwanted child, ergo...abortion on demand!
But the “health of the mother” is complete and utter crap when it comes to “partial birth” abortion. The infant is full term. It involves delivering the infant whole (after stabbing the infant in the head, sans anesthetic, and suctioning out its brain!) Sorry! There is no genteel way to put that.

If the mother’s health were truly imperiled, this would NOT be the method to use! “Health of the mother” is the thinnest of fig leaves to try to cover up what is virtually infanticide of a viable human being.

He’ll never be in the White House...but only so long as he’s vigorously opposed. Which will include some of the people who say they can’t vote for McCain “on principle” growing up and realizing the alternative is worse.

Seth Williams on June 5, 2008 at 06:55 pm

WELL HE SURVIVED HIS ABORTION, RIGHT?

No actual quote from Obama.......what a surprise!

Until you can produce an actual quote, this is just more Republican smear machine misrepresenting his position, or misunderstanding it.

You guys are barely intelligent enough to think for yourselves, let alone for anyone else.

Hannitized on June 5, 2008 at 08:56 pm

Barack Obama is evil and those who support his position on this matter are as well.

likwidshoe on June 5, 2008 at 09:53 pm

One small step from abortion to infanticide. [Some would say they are the same].  Another small step from infanticide to euthanasia.  As I have said before, the ultimate tyranny is to be able to regulate lives from cradle to coffin including who gets to be born and who has to die.

“The belief that there is only one truth and that oneself is in possession of it seems to me the deepest root of all evil that is in the world.”

So then we might imagine that there is no absolute truth and that all opinions are in fact someone’s truth and therefore equally relevent.

But then who decides whose truth is that by which society must abide?  And isn’t the arbitrary exaltation of one body of truth above another inequality?  Such nonsense cannot equitably establish a society.  Truth, epecially moral truth, must exist for true equality to exist. For those of us not bound by materialism or naturalism, truth is self-evident.

Therefore, to the leftie mind, it’s all about power, which explains their thirst for same.

Nunez - abortion is evil. That’s not a particularly “enlightening” statement, nor is it “simply ignorance bumping its head in the dark”.

Nice try though.

Even NARAL supported the federal Infants Born Alive Act.  However, this wasn’t the law that Obama opposed.  He opposed the Illinois Induced Infant Liability Act.

Recently, a Virginia law against so-called partial birth abortion was declared unconstitutional.  The federal law was upheld.  Why?  Because they weren’t the same.  Subtle differences in phrasing meant that the Virginia law would have criminalized doctors that the federal law would not have.  The Virginia law was meant to scare doctors away from performing any second-trimester abortions at all.

Maybe there was something similar going on with the Illinois law.  Maybe it was phrased in a way that would have kept doctors from performing legal abortions.  I would like to take a closer look and see for myself.

This man is truly evil, what I fear most is he may be the Anti-Christ come to vruition.
He packs stadiums and arenas, he is like a Rock Star and millions upon millions of people are being led to their destruction by Obama.
I was reserving judgment on him but the longer I have observed his meteoric rise to prominence the more my blood curdles with the fear that this man may be doing his “father’s” work...."Satan".
Unless something happens to him we are on our way to our final destruction, he will bring hollow promises and if he wins the Presidency and 3&1/2 years of peace begin around the world...we are in trouble!!
I hope the people of this country wake up and see that this man is not a good man but an evil man who will reign down unspeakable horrors upon this world.
