Barack Obama Apparently Thinks There Was Only One Bomb Dropped On Pearl Harbor

Uh, Senator?  I’m pretty sure the Navy’s Pacific fleet was decimated by more than one bomb on that “day that will live in infamy.”

But it is wonderful to be back in Indiana. In a few moments, we’ll open up the discussion. But I want to offer a few comments about some of the emerging threats that we face in the 21st century and offer some ideas about how we can face those threats.

Throughout our history, America’s confronted constantly evolving danger, from the oppression of an empire, to the lawlessness of the frontier, from the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, to the threat of nuclear annihilation. Americans have adapted to the threats posed by an ever-changing world.

This is a pretty stupid mistake to make given how vividly even Americans who weren’t alive at the time remember Pearl Harbor.  But it achieves a whole new level of stupidity when you consider that Obama grew up in Hawaii.

Comments

Why blame Obama, he only reads the speech.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Any audio to go along? Obama’s not above making such a stupid mistake, but it’s also very possible that whoever typed the transcript left out the ‘s’, which would make it “from the bombs that fell on Pearl Harbor”. Especially given the fact that it says: THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT.

Nope! He said it!

I watched the video of him saying it. Watched it twice to make sure. He clearly said “bomb” singular. The link is followed by some guy I don’t know giving commentary on The Human Gaffe Machine that is O’blurry.

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

The video on the link, I should say. I didn’t view it to the end. The first twenty seconds or so is all you need.
If I can find just that Obama video by itself, I will post it.

So then why exactly is this guy the Dem nominee? Even Kucinich would have been a better choice. They should have gone with Hillary. She’s ruthless and conniving, but at least competent.

So are you saying then that every misspoken word from George Bush makes him incompetent?

Glad you are finally on board.  Oh, wait...you aren’t you are just being a bunch of hypocritical pansies.

You guys keep making big deals over nothing.

So then are you saying that the Obamamessiah is every bit as intelligent as Chimpy McHitlerBurton? Heh.

If by “nothing” you mean the empty suit that is Obama, then yes!

No, not at all. But I agree that he doesn’t possess the competence to be POTUS.

I don’t think Obama should be judged solely by this factual gaffe, but it is one more piece of evidence that speaks to his level of competence.

For the last 8 years, the left has tried their best to convince the Nation & the World that G.W. is ignorant.
THe left has not let a single phrase pass that they could use to further their agenda.
Why is it not so important anymore to hold someone to their words?
Hypocritical? You bet.

I’m willing to believe he misspoke on this one.  I can belive he meant to say “bombs”.  I’m never giving him a pass for the 57 states though.

I think this is far more telling of the attitudes of the Democrats’ nominee:

Americans have adapted to the threats posed by an ever-changing world.

In the context of “threats” and past attacks on the US such as Pearl Harbor (Obama’s chosen context), I find the idea of adapting to, rather than confronting and defeating those threats, more than a little bit unsettling.

Had we “adapted” to the twin threats of Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany, instead of eliminating those threats, many of us, including Barack Obama, might not be here today, and those who would be likely would speak another language other than American English.

This is but one more example that for those on the radical Left, such as Barack Obama and his core supporters, the only vision worth fighting for is their own small-minded, one-world view, and the only threat worth confronting is that posed by those of us who object to the limits they would place on our freedoms.

In this post atomic bomb world, we often speak of the devastation of a single bomb: Hiroshima, Nagasaki.

I can believe that this lightweight excuse for a politician has never given a moment’s thought about any event in history or anything else that is not directly connected to his quest for political power.

As a deep thinker, Obama sets a new standard for shallow.

This is precisely why he won’t debate Senator John McCain in any Townhall meetings.
If he is only reading off a script written by someone else, he should at least be expected to be knowledgeable enough to correct the script writers’ mistakes regarding the history of our country.

We all must admit that Obama can’t hold a candle to Hillary.  After all, Obama never “misspoke” about dodging sniper fire - lol.

EXCELLENT point.  It truly never ceases to amaze me how liberals just don’t understand the severity of national security issues.  EVERY thing they want to do weakens our country.

You’re bloody kidding right? You’re really not mocking a man for leaving off a single letter in a speech.

How lame.

When we look at the “socialist paradise” that is Cuba, we must remember that a sizable share of the misery those people suffer is directly attributable to Che Guevara bringing Castro into power, and giving him many of the policies that have caused so much pain. The real symbol of Che should be the raft, to remind us of all those who have died on rafts in the ocean trying to escape the Cuban nightmare and get to freedom. And had he not been killed, begging for his life like a coward, he would’ve done the same thing again and again in countries all throughout Latin and South America. His actions have inspired terrorists across a continent and caused countless deaths.

I’m told that Obama thinks Peter Pan is a wash basin in a house of ill-repute . . ., but don’t sweat it; I’m also told (on good authority), that the Super Delegates will torpedo Obama at the Convention, and nominate Hillery
