Banned For Life For Criticizing Homosexuality

In Canada.

Now, I don’t personally have a problem with homosexuality.  I figure that what consenting adults do with one another is their business.  But this goes beyond gay issues to the question of free speech.

In Canada they’ve apparently got “human rights” committees in communities that can fine you thousands of dollars for hurting someone else’s feelings.  I think what people forget sometimes that freedom comes with responsibilities, and one of those responsibilities has to do with tolerating those who don’t agree with you.

For instance, I feel that the Ku Klux Klan is one of the most despicable groups in the entire world.  Their racist, bigoted hate speech nonsense makes me sick to my stomach.  But I’d march in the street in defense of their right to engage in that speech.
