Bad News For Hillary: No Re-Vote In Florida

So that’s that.

Florida Democratic chairwoman Karen Thurman sends out an angry email abandoning hope of a re-vote in the state:

Last week, the Florida Democratic Party laid out the only existing way that we can comply with DNC Rules – a statewide revote run by the Party – and asked for input.

Thousands of people responded. We spent the weekend reviewing your messages, and while your reasons vary widely, the consensus is clear: Florida doesn’t want to vote again.

So we won’t.

This is a real setback for Hillary, who could have gotten both delegates, momentum, and—crucially—a stronger chance to claim a popular vote lead out of the revote.

Bad news for Hillary, sure, but there’s still Michigan.  And with Rev. Wright hanging from Obama’s neck like a millstone, anything can happen yet.

That’s great news. The Democratic race will probably stay close till the convention, and the divisons on the left will get deeper and more bitter. Obama might just keep his numerical edge which would be wonderful for the Republicans, as it is seriously doubtful that he’s electable in November after this debacle.

Given the contenders, a loss for the Democrats in November is a win for America. Even if you don’t love McCain.

Seth: What about the possibility that at the Convention they will turn from Obama on the Wright affair and his then being unelectable, from Hillary because she’s a bitch, and . . . God forgive me for having the thought, they turn to Al Gore? Hmmm?

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

Oh, NO! The Democrats have stopped the voting in Florida! (Somebody call Al Gore!) smile

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

Gore? No problem, I don’t think he’s all that electable at this point either. Too late in the game, and not that wildly popular except on the left of the left.

The only realistic democratic contender that I’d be at all concerned about at this point is Clinton. Her policies are a nasty blend of populist pandering and progressive pablum, yet she polls as actually having a chance of getting elected in the general election.

Obama is the gift that keeps on giving, so let’s hope he’s the nominee.

The National Convention (through the rules or credentials committee) could still choose to seat Florida delegates.  If the Pastor Wright bru-ha-ha continues or if other things crop up.  they will do exactly that to absolve super delegates from making the “tough” decision of nominating Hillary.

Congress is the only whorehouse in history to consistently lose money!

These Democrats aren’t very democratic.

And they have the nerve to throw a shit fit when they’re called “the Democrat party” rather than “the Democratic party”.

What absolute jackasses.
