AT&T Censors Pearl Jam

I guess Pearl Jam put on a concert at Lollapalooza and sang some anti-Bush lyrics to a song with AT&T, responsible for a webcast of that concert, censored.

Or something like that.  There’s video of the lyrics in question at the link.

My reaction?  I didn’t know there were people out there who still listened to Pearl Jam.  Guess the band is still pretty popular among the sort of losers who sit at home and watch webcasts of concerts on their computers.

As for AT&T and the “censorship,” I’m sure Pearl Jam will be giving back the company’s corporate sponsorship money any moment now…

I’m not a fan of their politics, but still enjoy their music.  By saying you didn’t know there were people who still listened to Pearl Jam, makes you sound like those liberals who don’t know anyone who voted for George W. Bush for President in 2004.

And no, i’m not a loser who sat at home and watched the webcast.

“It was a mistake,” said AT&T spokesman Michael Coe. “It should not have been edited out.”

Hmmm.

"There are different kinds of truths for different kinds of people. There are truths appropriate for children; truths that are appropriate for students; truths that are appropriate for educated adults; and truths that are appropriate for highly educated adults, and the notion that there should be one set of truths available to everyone is a modern democratic fallacy. It doesn’t work.”

According to the Journal, Pearl Jam fired back with a lengthy post on their Web site rallying for so-called ‘Net neutrality rules that would bar telecom companies from providing faster service for some Web services than others.

Again hmmm. I wonder if you would cite a pro-Bush band being censored as another example of liberal media bias.

Pearl Jam kicks ass (still), regardless of their political views, no need for the ad hominem.
