Associated Press Bemoaning All The “Precious Energy” Blago Investigation Is Draining From Obama Team
Oh, the humanity.
Prosecutors have said Obama is not implicated in the case against Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat to the highest bidder. But the corruption scandal has drained precious energy from Obama’s preparations to take over the White House.
Guess we should hurry up and wrap up the investigation before Obama loses any more energy. I mean, Bush never had to deal with anything like this.
Meanwhile, the Obama team is all lawyered up:
While neither Obama nor any member of his transition team appear to be a target of the investigation, it’s now nonetheless dominating headlines and consuming the transition’s time for a third week, and new details have continued to emerge about the FBI interview with the soon-to-be most powerful man in the world, who had already emphatically declared that he “had no contact with the governor’s office. I did not speak to the governor about these issues.”
Obama was not under oath, but he was represented in the FBI interview — as well as throughout the internal review — by Bob Bauer, the shrewdly pugnacious Washington super lawyer who represented Obama’s campaign. Each of the four Obama associates referenced in the internal report also retained attorneys, although only Emanuel and Jarrett sat for interviews with U.S. attorneys and FBI agents.
Don’t worry folks. They don’t have anything to hide.
My guess? Rahm Emanuel doesn’t even make it past inauguration day. Or, if he does, he’ll be gone shortly after.
Hope Blago is still keeping that seat warm for him!
