Ashlee Simpson: Obama Being Elected Means You Can’t Make Fun Of Fat Girls Any More

I don’t normally pay attention to celebrity gossip, but my wife pointed this out to me and I felt I had to post it to indicate just how pervasive Obama worship has become.

Apparently some people in the entertainment gossip industry are making fun of Jessica Simpson for being fat because of pictures like these:

Not exactly flattering, but I’d be willing to bet that most of tabloid types making the snide comments would still fall all over themselves for a date with Jessica.  But what cracked me up was Ashlee Simpson (apparently Jessica’s sister) response to the criticism on her blog:

I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.
All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.
Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend?
I seriously doubt it.
How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?
Now can we focus on the things that really matter.

Not only do we have this airhead invoking a little hope ‘n change in defense of her sister’s waistline, we have a bit of Fox News derangement too.

Who said Hollywood isn’t entertaining any more?  The movies and music seem to be getting worse, but the unintentionally funny moments of stupidity never fail to please.
